Lucid Dreaming

Peter has a recurring nightmare about being locked up. There’s probably some psychological reason for it, and he tries not to dwell on it. He’s busy being chased by the villain of the week, dealing with scrounging up enough money to pay the rent on his shitty apartment, and hanging around outside the donut shop where MJ works, trying not to look like a creep when he checks up on her. Until he falls asleep, and doesn’t wake up again. Until he falls asleep, and Tony breaks into the room where he’s locked up to rescue him. - - - Or, Peter was kidnapped shortly after Endgame by Quentin Beck, and he’s spent the past year and a half trapped in a series of illusions. Is everything that happened since the Battle Against Thanos real, or just an elaborate storyline Beck played out for his own amusement, with Peter as his personal puppet? Are Tony and May really alive, or is this just a dream? How is Peter supposed to tell what’s real and what’s fake when everything seems too good to be true?

The most effective way to torture Tony Stark is to make his second-guess himself, or to force him to sit, alone and still, with those second-guesses. The most effective way to torture Tony Stark is to give him so much time and space that he tortures himself.)

Tony didn't have many guesses about what the afterlife would be like, but this certainly wasn't on the list. It was as if he was alive, but with so much... nothing. He couldn't feel his body, he couldn't see out his eyes, he couldn't breathe. The only thing he could do was exist, and think. He hoped that eventually, he could stop thinking, but for now he couldn't stop.

He didn't wake up expecting to die today, much less in front of his boy. He knew he would die for Peter, and Peter surely knew the same, but he didn't want the boy to see it happen. The men in masks had proposed his options and Tony had his mind made up within a second. He had to flip one of the switches that would inject poison directly into a vein: either his or Peters.

Now, dead, he was starting to second guess his choice.

Tony Stark lay (numbed, blindfolded, deafened, and convinced he's dead) on a metal table in an unknown room, while Peter Parker desperately tried to bring him to life. He can hear the heartbeat. Peter knows he can come back. He just has to keep going.

Ok hear me out. Imagine the song Wasted Summers, but Peter and Morgan. Morgan wants to write a song (as a lot of little girls do), only she adores Peter SO MUCH that she wants him to do it with her. Peter agrees, obviously, and they write their song together. One day, as Tony walks by Morgan’s bedroom, he hears Peter and Morgan singing a song together that he doesn’t recognize and his heart MELTS. He asks them what they’re singing and Morgan tells him about their song they wrote together. Tony asks if they want to record it and release it. Morgan is ecstatic at the idea, but only if Peter does it with her. Peters hesitant at first, but he just can’t say no to Morgan, so BAM, they release their song together and no, Tony is NOT crying thank you very much. (I haven’t seen anyone do this before but if someone has please lmk!)

BONUS:

When the song is released, everyone loves it and #starksiblings is trending for weeks after. Peter gets flustered and insecure at the implication, but after a talk with his family, he finds he’s very happy with it 😊
