lately I feel like this weird shadow version of myself. like an echo, a memory, just trying to come up for air. i feel like I’ve forgotten who I am at my core and instead let the dark parts of myself take over. the voices in me that I try to keep quiet but are always fighting to be heard. the words of others I’ve tried to block out but are somehow always playing on repeat in my brain. but I’m heading towards the surface. i don’t know what’s waiting on the other side, if it’s good or bad or just more grey, but if I don’t swim then I’ll always wonder what would’ve happened if I had. ☾
