“ lady lyanna, may i have a word? ”   jon spoke up once they were alone, with just a couple of her own men standing by her side. she almost reminded him of lord commander mormont, in an odd sort of way, but that didn’t matter much.   “ i think it’s best if we talk. i want the relation between house mormont, and wintefell to be strong, once i retake the keep. ”   he explained, gloved hand resting atop longclaw’s carved pommel.   “ if my lady isn’t too busy, obviously. ”

          𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐈𝐒 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐉𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐇 𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒𝐍’𝐓 𝐒𝐄𝐄𝐌 𝐓𝐎 𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐄.   not in lyanna’s eyes, at least.   when she looks up, she sees a stark in all his glory   —   the same features her mother once used to describe eddard stark himself.   but there lays a sense of her uncle in the emotion of his eyes and the way he holds himself before her.   jon snow took the black under his command and, for a moment, lady mormont takes comfort in that fact.   if her uncle trusted this bastard, perhaps she can too.

          he speaks and suddenly he earns her undivided attention.     ‘  house mormont will stand by winterfell for eternity as long as there is stark blood between its walls,  ’      her vow has almost become as easy as breathing now.   the weight of her ancestors stands upon her shoulder as she says it, aware that to break tradition would break a bond which lasted for centuries.     ‘  what do you have in mind?  ’
