Crunch, crunch, crunch.
Black boots broke the leaves on the trail as a man walked through an old, abandoned town. Black pants, along with a purple button down shirt and a leather jacket clad the man in a decent outfit for the fall breeze as he wandered, looking for something.
“Nothing here… damn…” He muttered as he leaned up against a building and lit a smoke, sighing as he pulled out his phone to check the time. He had no further plans for his day…
Looks fine. Se nodded to himself, zipping his pack and shouldering it; the looted contents making a muted clanking sound. He doesn’t like taking things from others but he ruled this as fine. The place has been abandoned for so long, no one’s going to miss if he scavenged a few things here and there.
He climbed out the window left unlocked by the house’s long departed owner. As if in some bizarre show of respect, Se turned back to nudge the window closed… and that was when the scent hit him. Was that cigarette smoke?
As silently as possible he picked his way towards the source. No one should be hanging around these parts.
He heard a noise in the town. Was someone here? It sounded like a window opening to him.
Silently, he moved over around a corner of a building towards the sound, walking completely silently as he moved alongside another wall and carefully peered around it. It was a man climbing out of a window.
‘Why did he bother shutting it so carefully?’ he thought to himself as he watched the man, who started heading in Azibo’s direction. He casually moved away and just leaned against the wall, taking a puff of the cigarette and paying the man no mind as he came closer. What’s the worst that could happen?
There was no need for Se to close the distance between the two of them further in order to confirm that there is indeed another person who wandered into the deserted town. From the looks of it, the other man is making no effort to actually hide. He could see the smoke from his cigar from just behind the wall.
The young hunter stopped in his tracks. Perhaps the guy hasn’t seen him? If so he can simply turn right around and leave. Turning on his heel, he started walking off the opposite direction. There shouldn’t be any issues unless the man decides to follow him... or if he's here to search the neighboring areas. Se glanced over his shoulder. "Hey."

Truth was quick to cut down the demon when he finally cornered it. It wasn't a major threat, but it had attacked a couple of people earlier in the week and last thing he wanted was a spree killer. He gave his sword a quick flick, casting off the blood that coated it, and then returned it to it's sheath. He turned and began to make his way out of the alleyway, yawning in exhaustion.
It has been two weeks since his last kill and the young hunter’s annoyance is steadily growing. Not for the lack of trophies, no. It was more for the fact that all demon trails so far led to mangled bodies and puddles of blood. Someone–or something–outside his circle is operating around the city.
It has been two weeks and finally he’s found the man. Se raised his crossbow, taking aim from his perch atop an abandoned shop.
“Hey, you.”
“At least you know what I am.“ Se lowered his aim, although not entirely relaxing his grip on the weapon. The young man stayed unmoving for a full minute before a sigh escaped him. He stepped closer to the ledge and pushed his hood off. One more thing…
“Give me your name.”
“Troku Sakarian, but I’m better known as Truth.”
Truth kept his eyes on the other male as he spoke, golden hues seeming to shine in the semi darkness of the alley. Judging by the other’s stance now told him that he wasn’t entirely hostile. but there was still the small chance.
Well, that was fast. Se snorted before hopping down, although a fair distance from Truth. While he still has his crossbow at hand yet has it lowered this time. What strange eyes he has.
“I suppose I should thank you for taking care of them for me,” he mused, eyes darting to the darkened corner where the remains of the most recent kill sits. “We can’t have a stranger roaming free with a weapon however. So...”
Se tilted his head. “Either you spill your business or I will just have to keep watching you.”

He tried to keep his words cold and flat, but the venom in them kept a smile on Asher’s face.
“Oh, look who’s trying to act tough. So cute,” he says with a pat to the top of Se’s head, “You asked for the best so here I am, asshole. We won’t need more than a few hours and it’s barely midnight.”
The thief’s hand was slapped away. “We will go now to get the job done,” the hunter snarled. “You can do whatever you please after that.” With that said, he strode off leaving Asher to follow. Se could only hope that he would come along quietly and that he hasn’t forgotten about the plan he carefully laid out the night prior.
While Se’s sense of mission had a sobering effect on those whom he passed on the dark streets, Asher had the opposite. He left a wake of flirting and promises to come back to some of the prettier street walkers. Each glare and grunted complaint from Se a small victory to him.
It wasn’t until they climbed onto the roof of a house across from their target’s that he donned the cold professionalism his partner already wore. He started going their original plan in the cant particular to the thieves guild, when he noticed Se wasn’t replying. After spitting out a few insults, Asher finally found one that Se seemed to know. “And you dared to insinuate I was the fucking amateur here.”
Ignoring the thief’s antics seem to be the best course of action… at least that’s what he thought. He did have to try and keep Asher in line once in a while; especially since the man has a knack for getting sidetracked. Se could only wonder how he could possibly get through the night without losing his mind.
Se could only utter a silent thanks to the heavens the moment his companion started behaving himself… until he realized the man has either started mumbling odd words to him. It was something he neglected to prepare for.
“Look, I’m not from Talia,” he sputtered, face getting warm. “We haven’t even met before this job. You can’t expect me to speak your language.”

An apple core flew at the waiting man a moment before Asher stepped into view. “Oh, am I late? Could have sworn you said midnight,” he innocently said despite his enormous grin saying otherwise. His soft leather boots hardly made a sound as slid over to stand close to Se, obviously not deterred by his growing scowl. “You look tense. We got some time. Go visit Tissy a few blocks over. She’s great at loosening you up before a job.” he stretches out his arms and legs, “And after.”

“Nevermind that.”
“We’re late enough as it is,” the younger man seethed as he gave Asher a brief look from head to toe, distaste clear on his face. So unprofessional and obnoxious. “If you can’t do the job, just admit it outright. Quit trying to stall.”

Truth stopped in his tracks, his body tensing up after he heard the voice. Without turning his head, he began to look around in front of him before his eyes fell upon a shape on a shop’s roof. From the stance, he guessed they have either a firearm or a crossbow. Either way, he was at a disadvantage. After weighing his options, he spoke loud enough for the shape to hear him.
“What is it?”
“You reek of them.” Se adjusted his weapon, now aiming for the stranger’s head. He could sense that something is definitely off about this man. It would not be the first time monsters targeted their kind.
Should have brought more of my imbued bolts just in case this turns out badly, he thought as he cussed under his breath. “What are you?”
