You smile and step closer.

“Nothing. I’m just noticing how much softer you’ve gotten.”

Your hands settle around my waist, gently squeezing the curve of my stomach while I look down at myself.

“It’s getting harder to hide, isn’t it?”

I bite my lip.

“…Maybe.”

You press your palm against the roundest part of my belly.

I glance up at you.

Your smile widens.

Then you give my belly one last gentle squeeze.

I think I gained a little weight over the summer...I need to lose a few pounds or i’ll look like a cow. I feel so heavy when I walk, and my belly has been a little hard to hide lately. Every step I take, I feel it wobble, and I feel my clothes tightening around the fat.

Can you believe it? I thought we were less hungry in the summer
