Domestic Jiara In OBX S4 (2024)
#there was only one hyperbaric chamber

#jiara looking out for each other
He just never really had a home. He's happy.
JIARA DATING ERA during Outer Banks S4 PART 1.
But it really is just us against the world, isn't it?
I think people are forgetting the show is called Outer banks and not Jiara. Jiara has gained a ridiculous amount of popularity over the last few seasons especially since last season, and Iām sick of what seems to be new fans dragging the show because it doesnāt seem to be centred around jiara? Theyāre happy with the lack of jiara or theyāre not happy with the interactions we got. Itās glaringly obvious whoās not been here since 2019 and doesnāt understand the characters. Madison has literally said in an interview the difference between jiaraās dynamic and John b and Sarah for example. Iām just so fed up with the negativity. A must watch https://x.com/jjandkie/status/1845350890766729633?s=46&t=_D7fZV0T1iOtwwqM0INzQA
Iām not really looking to promote negativity and donāt spend much time in fandom spaces these days so canāt speak to the negativity youāve seen or the demographic of the fandom. My answers have simply been my thoughts on the season so far, mostly formed without the influence of other people. As I said, I respect Rudy and Madisonās interpretation of their characters even if I also feel a bit greedy and want more.
Itās not surprising to me that people might feel a disconnect between what is on screen and what has been imagined. Personally, I know lot of what I think and feel about jiara was built of the back of S1 when we knew so little about them and they only just started their arcs. You recalibrate after every season but all in all thatās 4 years of theorising and building up an idea of what that relationship would look like. Do I respect, understand and agree with the choices made by the writer and actors in S4? Yes, I do. Would my ideal interpretation of jiara look different? Slightly, yeah. Ultimately the writers and actors own those characters, so Iām not here to demand anything. My off the cuff musings are just that.
If there is a lot of negativity in the fandom, thatās a shame and I understand your frustration. All you can do is avoid those spaces and focus on what you enjoyed,.
Uhm i agree they will never be the jarah type of couple, but I also didn't expect to see them act like they were still just friends.
However I don't really agree with the plot, I mean was it really necessary to go so hard on JJ? upset his life that much? We'll the effects on part 2, im so scared
It would have been nice to see something a bit different and more evolved, especially considering it's been 18 months. Alternatively, I do understand Rudy and Madison's perspective on their characters even if I selfishly would have loved something a little more. We will see what part two has in store, I'm very curious where jiara will end the season.
The twist is very controversial, so I don't think you're alone on that. I actually don't hate the entire plot but would have preferred they kept Luke as his dad. I just can't reconcile the Luke we know with someone who would raise a child who has no relation to him and keep that secret. It's very at odds with canon. JJ now has so many things to come to terms with about his identity, I am pretty interested to see how this changes him.
What are your your thoughts on the s4? jiara?
I already like S4 more than S3 (even though the jiara in s3 was wonderful, nearly everything else was meh). It feels fresh and the dynamics felt the closest to S1 in many ways.
On jiara specifically, there was some great stuff in the first 5 eps. The moment in the hyperbaric chamber felt a lot like S1 jiara to me and I loved everything about them on their surf day.
Ultimately, their dynamic is pretty much what I expected based on how S3 played out. They were never going to be the same type of couple as Jarah B (even though I long for it lol). I respect their approach but as a shipper I obviously wish there were more overt relationship vibes and I hope to see a little more from JJ in particular. If they could figure out how to film a kiss while considering both camera angle and lighting at the same time that would be appreciated too š.
What did you think?
