where do they live?

after her mother’s untimely passing, lygia inherited the family home. it’s paid off, as her father’s grandparents had left it to the family, and hathaway’s have never worked hard for anything. it’s a rundown three bedroom with an unfinished basement. her pa’s marijuana fixation still has the house reeking. there’s a few holes in the walls from family scuffles between her siblings, and the roof leaks when it rains, but fixing or changing anything isn’t really in the cards. it wouldn’t be home if she altered it.

do they have neighbors?

she’s the last house on the street. it’s a dead end, but the elderly couple directly beside her has been there since her great grands lived there, and they absolutely despise one another. lygia’s music is too loud for them, and their dog has one more time to take a dump on her part of the sidewalk before elle goes back to the big house. she’s done plenty of petty things, like thrown eggs at their door and pissed in their bushes while inebriated, but they’ll never get a confession out of her.

we have the standard vices (drink/drugs/smokes). what do they eat? are they vegetarian, vegan? lactose/gluten intolerant?

lygia is always puffing on a cigarette. others call it a habit, she calls it her medicine. nicotine just keeps her at ease. she enjoys a glass of scotch or boxed wine at the end of every day, too. it’s her nighttime medicine, as the alcohol gets her ready for bed. she’s a real southern belle when it comes to her diet. soul food is her favorite, as is red meat, and she’ll probably punch a vegetarian or vegan in their throat if they reprimand her for it.

family stuff

how did their family upbringing affect them?

lygia likes to believe that her parents did the best that they could to give her a good life. all she has is happy memories of her father, never mind the fact that her parents were absolutely appalling. her parents ignored the issues that they had, and put their children’s lives in jeopardy on multiple occasions. while they may have truly loved lygia and her siblings, their way of showing it was lackluster. they weren’t equipped to be parents.

do they even like their family?

she adores ‘em. she adores the reputation they have, and she remains a daddy’s girl. talking bad about her family is the quickest way to piss her off. she’ll defend their actions ‘til her death. and anyone trying to convince her otherwise is liable to receive a fierce tongue lashing, or even a backhand. whichever one she feels like giving out that day.

friends stuff

are they a friend hoarder? do they have 1-5 really good ones or 1,200 facebook friends?

lygia is gullible. she thinks that everyone is her friend, when that clearly isn’t the case. it’s caused her to get into some really messed up situations. she’s a wanderer, a follower, and she needs people to guide her. a lot of her friends take on the motherly or fatherly role, because of her lack of maturity, and that can get old quick. she can easily make friends, but she has trouble keeping them.

what do they look for in a friend? a listener or a talker?

definitely a listener. lygia has a big mouth, and she likes to have people around her that will listen to it. in addition to motherly and fatherly friends, she likes to have yes-people. people who will always give her the answer she’s looking for, as she doesn’t like being disagreed with. she takes it personally, almost, when people have different opinions than her.

relationship stuff

what do they look for in a relationship?

she searches for excitement. someone she can be adventurous with. someone who can handle how chaotic she is, and ideally be the same way. lygia gets bored easily, so she seeks out new experiences like clockwork, which is also why none of her relationships tend to last. she gets tired of people with ease.
