first of all the actual instrumental of the song is often perceived as quite sensual which is similar to how sasuke is revered by people who only see him for his looks and title as an uchiha, before him as a person who’s experienced grief and hardship, in the same vain as this people focus on the sound of the song rather than the meaning behind it
as far as i’m aware the meaning behind the song is holding on to fragile bonds that are doomed to fail and the overall fragility in relationships which sasuke has experienced a lot of with his whole clan being massacred, the dynamic with his brother as well as his relationship with naruto
so not only does that actual meaning behind the song resonate with sasukes past experiences but also the treatment and reception of the song reflects that of sasuke and we could consider the fact that there’s a “language barrier” as it’s often non korean fans perception that the song is sexy as they can’t actually understand the lyrics, in the same way that the ninja and konoha can’t understand sasukes pursuit of revenge

He found in football a way of stimulating, in a socially acceptable way, and on top of that a fixed goal of becoming the world’s best with Sae.
The fracture starts when Sae moves to Spain. His anchor and containment systems are physically gone but the set goal was still there. When Sae comes back from Spain, it completely collapses. He has changed his goal from being the "world’s best striker to midfielder". People usually say “What’s the big deal? Just let Sae be.” However, a brain with Rin’s characteristics feels completely shaken because it affects the single established goal and unbalances his hyper-focus and predictability.
Now, his anchor is gone physically, emotionally and psychologically. Sae has completely detached from him after years of being his support system, and he does it in the worst way possible.
Sae’s words reinforce the previous ideas that concerned baby Rin about “being weird” and in the process leaves him without the goal he was fixated on for all those years.
This is where the concept of masking starts. Masking involves changing the personal traits just to fit in. Rin’s brain associates Sae with safety, to survive, his brain adapts Sae’s personality. Which is why when we first meet Rin he comes off as your average stoic prodigy. He even copies the “lukewarm” expression.
Adding Rin’s already established Mild Autism, his seeking taboo stimuli and his need for vengeance, we finally get to the Oppositional Defiant Disorder. He is not a sadist as most people think.
The left panel shows one of the scenes we get immediately after Sae leaves, a dialogue “you ruined my life”. Another characteristic of projecting the extreme rage to external circumstances.
Rin’s hyper fixation turns to “destroying Sae”. The problem is that he keeps on going with the masked personality that mirrors Sae’s. His brain tries to adapt to a low stimulus seeking behavior, but it is naturally wired for extreme behaviors. Which is why opposition and defiance enter as a defense mechanism. His system, in a way, is trying to combine Sae’s and Rin’s personalities to survive.
Up to the most recent chapter, his defense mechanism has been breaking little by little.
His loss of temper and irritability are significantly increasing. From mild annoyance to complete havok.
Defiance of authority. Constantly questioning Ego.
Provoking others. During the match with the Sub-20 he used the other player's strengths against them. Just for the pleasure of it.
With every step he is reaching an autistic burnout, his system is trying to get rid of the mask that has been adapted. Even if he tries to regulate it with activities like yoga, it’s still turning into a hyper-focused rage.
His need to destroy and be destroyed is not childish curiosity anymore, every experience and trauma has turned it into something more twisted. There lies the issue. Rin is a person that inherently seeks stimulation through hyper-intense or "taboo" resources, in his case violent ideas. People like this need to have a more well-established management system to prevent bigger consequences. (For example, people seeking sexual release might end up engaging in public masturbation.)
I’m sure this is what Ego is trying to set, in his own way. He is trying to redirect Rin’s “destruction” concept. But if Kaneshiro wants to get dark, he might actually end up killing someone if the stimulus keeps going unchecked.

I'm a pretentious bitch so the title is inspired by Lovecraft's "The Rats in the Wall". The story of a man that starts restoring his ancestral house, just to be plagued by the phantom sound of scratching rats that his cats also sense. He ends up spiraling into a dark, primal madness because he exposes a horrifying, cannibalistic history hidden beneath the mansion.
Keeping the Lovecraft theme I love how Rin's ego is not an animal but instead this weird Lovecraftian like creature.
