My answer, compassion. When we demonstrate compassion we open our minds and hearts to the suffering of others. We seek to understand their suffering through their experience, not our perception of their experience. We do not compare our suffering to their own and we do not question their experience for it is their truth. When we lead with compassion we leave no room for politics, racism, prejudice, judgement, differences of ideologies and hate. When we choose to demonstrate compassion for another we see them as equals. I have a wanderlust for travel. Backpacking through the wilderness and sleeping under the stars is my idea of a great time but I also have a strong desire to experience new cultures, places, people, food...If it's different and new, I want to experience it. Where did this wanderlust for new cultures come from? My Mother. My mother, Eva, has always had a strong sense of adventure. She is a city girl at heart so her to travel usually takes her to expansive cities and small towns to experience new cultures, people and places. The desire for new experiences has led her all over the world. She is bold in her travels and doesn't shy away from the unknown. She plays by her own rules, adapts quickly and embraces each place she visits. It is because of this that she is embraced wherever she travels, making friends along the way. Our family and friends often joke that we are gypsies at heart as we are often seeking new experiences. I'm grateful that I got to share my recent trip to France with her. From this trip, I became bolder in my pursuit of photography.
