The past week has been extremely emotionally taxing. My Impossible Tomodachi here has honestly been doing a lot to keep me sane and smiling recently.

I'm glad I gave this game a shot. I really wasn't sure it would be for me, but it's meant so much to me right now.

Since my birthday today is the same day as the release of Mina the Hollower, I did consider drawing my ratsona cosplaying as Mina.

Buuuut she doesn't wear anything on bottom. I think I may just be too anthro to get away with "Donald Ducking it" like that. XD

Tangent Episode 6 - Yet Another Isekai

Early in the chapter, a reader joked, "I know it's not gonna happen, but it would be funny if the four of them also got isekai'd together, but to a different world than Chiaki." And that thought never left me. So here we are. XD

Just felt we might like a little levity after that chapter.

The doctor explains the situation to Emma, as Chiaki's dad finally arrives (he's well-meaning, but always a little late). Meanwhile, Fumiko remains by Chiaki's bedside, saying the words she hears at the end of the previous chapter. MIS ch.7, p.243 - Interrupted

What's interesting about this is that Chiaki has heard Fumiko's voice several times over the course of her first eight days in the other world. But this chapter - the source of all the lines Chiaki's heard - has only been part of one day for Fumiko and the others. Just a few long hours. And yet, then we see Chiaki, probably just minutes after when we last saw her in Chapter 7, responding directly. But she remains unheard.

The Chapter 8 End message simply reads "Silence…"

And then one last peculiar little scene with Fumiko to leave you with. ^_^

Also, I mentioned this the other day, but I am going to go on hiatus because I have a huge amount of life stuff to worry about coming up over the next few weeks. Best case scenario, I'd love to be back to posting by late June. If not, probably July. Either way, I'll keep you posted.

We finally see Chiaki, who is… here. But as I think most of you expected, she's not waking up. She's alive, but not conscious.

At least, not here in this room she isn't.

We haven't seen much of Fumiko and Emma (Chiaki's mom) talking to each other, but presumably they've had time to discuss what happened. Seeing her daughter in a coma, though, Emma asks to hear it again. It doesn't seem she was pushed. It doesn't seem it was self-harm. It seems she simply tripped. But is it possible that there was more to it…?

Emma finds some kind of relief in knowing there didn't appear to be any foul play, but it obviously doesn't make things much better. Her daughter is still in serious condition. That's still a lot to take in.

He presents the honest fear of seeing his sister in a weakened state and why that troubles him. If I'm being honest, I struggle with this kind of thing too. It's not that I don't want to be there for those I care about, but the helplessness I feel when there's not more I can do for them can be brutally overwhelming. Honoka finds this pretty relatable as well.

On a lighter note, we have two flashback panels. One features Naoki seeking advice from his friend, Yurika, earlier today. She may or may not come to be relevant in the future. We'll see what happens as we go.

The other panel shows Naoki observing Chiaki excitedly holding a new game over her head. It's pretty small, so I won't blame anyone for not being able to make it out, but I based the design on Dragon Quest 7's boxart (the original from 2000, not the Reimagined version from a couple months ago, of course). Or using the "bland name product" terminology, Wyrm Adventure 7. :P

Fumiko and Emma walk off discussing the particular details we essentially know already, leaving Honoka and Naoki. So let's get to know these two a little better this week.

Just a few heads up. First off, I said from the start that this was going to be a short chapter, and yeah, we're almost at the end. It's just this week and next week. And it's pretty much all emotional stuff from here on out. If you're prone to crying, I may recommend against checking new pages in the middle of class or work meetings so I don't get anyone in trouble. ^^;

Also, there will be a longer hiatus after this chapter. My spouse and I are preparing for kind of an emergency move and I really need to focus on that, first and foremost. Hopefully, that will mean I can get back into the swing of things by sometime next month, but I've also been dealing with shoulder pain in my drawing arm. So in the midst of everything, I am also trying to rest it, but I don't exactly have a lot of luxury to rest while stressfully packing/lifting/moving. So while I'd like to get back to things as soon as possible, please bear with me if things take a little longer. (I promise I won't be out of commission for the rest of the year, though!)

All that said, there's only a few pages left for the current chapter, and we can certainly ride them out to the end so we're not cutting off mid-chapter.
