It's really dope to see that people still have hip hop cassette collections, collecting is a lost art form among the hip hop community.

West Side Saturday Night
This Saturday Night (10/05/13) at 9 PM Eastern Time on Lyrical Graffiti, DJ Soulja Smooth will play classics from our favorite west coast artists. For those of you who don't know what we mean, anyone who resides in the Pacific Time Zone is a west coast artist. Unlike our paid homage to the greatest hip hop duos on last weeks show there aren't many restrictions on who can and can not be played, but we do have a few ground rules:
1) We are ONLY playing songs from west coast rappers.
2) Certain rappers who were not originally born on the west coast but who heavily represent or have spent their whole careers on the west coast ARE ELIGIBLE to have their songs played this Saturday night. (For example, Kurupt of Tha Dogg Pound was born in Philadelphia, however, his career did not take off until after he signed with Death Row Records which was a West Coast Label, therefore, he heavily repped the west and is considered a West coast artist).
3) Songs by a west coast artist that feature rappers who are not from the west coast WILL NOT BE PLAYED.
4) Only rappers who have recorded at least one studio album or EP are eligible for play. (Mixtapes, whether retail or free do not count).
We hope to have all of you that see this tune in to Lyrical Graffiti this Saturday Night (10/05/13) at 9 PM EST on Mixlr.com/Lyrical-Graffiti and as always, you can call into the show via Skype. Just add Lyrical Graffiti to your skype contacts. And as a treat for our listeners and Blog followers, all week long we will post photos, videos, editorials, and dope moments from our favorite west coast spitters. Peace!
