hello! i just found your work recently and i was really curious on what your process is like for making comic pages if you don’t mind me asking!! do you plan your panel layouts and everything first, or do you draw the characters and then do the panel layouts?

Hii hello!

first i write a script to get some understanding of how much action i want to include on each page, and to have an idea of how many pages are needed. Then i do panel layouts with speech bubbles, and try to spread the text somewhat evenly throughout the page (when necessary). And then i draw characters!

I'm sure you can work around the process in different ways, but i like this kind of workflow bc it allows me to check that the 180-degree rule works right (questionable decision on my part)

hi- this ask is just general appreciation of ur newest animatic- it's gen one of the coolest things ive seen all week (ignoring today being monday) like idc from my odd niche villain apologist spot in the fandom this is one of my fav bnha animatics oat. metric is one of my favorite bands ever, and i luv your artstyle sm it has so many traits of some of my fav things in fan art like.. it looks like metric sounds if that makes sense. (the animatic is how i found ur art if that wasn't evident)

anyways to channel all my rambling into something cohesive i just wanted to hear any general thoughts that went into this- like, any story behind it that you made up, or like, what motivated you to keep at this since 2019 if im correct?!?? holy shit how but also thank fuck. or just like misc thoughts on the pairing, or their characterization in the animatic that you have- but like yeah you don't have to answer thanks for sharing your art

to answer your question, i think I've started this somewhere about mid-2020, when i was doing my uni thesis and was procrastinating real hard, so i started a fancomic, but then it became a serious thing and I had to procrastinate into something else... i think the idea of this project happened when i tried Clip Studio, and realized how easy it is to mimic the old vhs/tv series anime visuals. at that point i was also wondering why hasn't anyone did it already (turned out, many people did, i just haven't found them at that point haha)

i think i only finished it out of stubbornness, though i did have a nearly 2 year hiatus when major historical events interfered with my personal life. also now i have something to put into my portfolio, while all of my recent work is under NDAs..... 🥲
