As far as Mai was concerned, she had finished with this guy. Grasping the skirt and towel in her hands and balancing them on her hip, she turned on her heel and began in the direction of her hotel. Yes, she was beginning to really hurt but she was a big girl, she wasn't about to curl up on the ground and start crying. However, she'd probably have to put some cream on the wounds as soon as she got to her room. If she got infected because of this goof then it would literally just finalise everything that had happened to her. Seriously, that would be the actual cherry on the cake. Little did she know things were about to get a whole lot worse.
Calm as Mai could be, she was borderline fuming now. Though it was slowly being released the further away she got from the stocky guy. The thing is, she wasn't aware of what was going on behind her. It was only until she heard a loud crash of pots and pans did she stop to look over her shoulder at the scene that was in the middle of unfolding. Okay, this was just getting ridiculous. How many times had animals caused problems for her today? Perfect, just perfect. It was the red fluffy creature that was causing this issue, once again, and the brawl only seeming to escalate as pots continued to be thrown all over the beach. She had long ago decided not to be involved with this kid and his pet, but now it seemed unavoidable.
The over-sized hamster was scurrying, along with three scruffy cats, directly over to Mai and Bolin. At this rate, she may as well have turned up at the beach wearing a dress made of meat. The only thing she could think of was to run. But before she could even lift a foot, two strong arms were suddenly on her body, pulling her up onto a shoulder. Surprise, surprise. It was Bolin. Was she ever going to get rid of this person? Although she was now shooting down the beach at speed, the cats and the ferret were still on their tail. And now she was even more agitated because someone she barely knew had flung her on to his shoulder, and they were still being chased.
"Seriously? You couldn't have just let me go?!"
Gritting her teeth, Mai could only grip onto the man as they continued on their flee down the long strip of sand. She was tempted to kick and punch so she could wriggle out of his grasp, but that would not be the smartest choice seeing as they were travelling quite fast and she'd rather not roll into the sea. It was still uncomfortable, especially for someone who liked their personal space, to be hauled up onto a large frame and to suddenly dash off. Another problem was the surface Bolin was running on. Sand wasn't always thick and firm. Several times she was convinced some of the sand had got in her mouth, and was dealing with a similar issue with her eyes.
Watching with a thundery expression, Mai found that Pabu was now on-board the new form of transport that was Bolin. She glanced up a few times, but it was so bumpy that it was hard to focus on what exactly was happening with the cats. She could tell, however, that they had slowed. Perhaps even stopped, as the fuzzy blurs of matted browns and greys had vanished from her sight. Soon the man had slowed down and Mai, incredibly wound up over the entire fiasco, began her kicking fury. She managed to swipe him a few times, but only escaped his grasp when he put her back down on the sand.
Oh, boy. He was really in for it. Where could Mai start on this one? She looked from the ferret then up to the man, a fierce glare taking over her expression. Her fists clenched and she found it a struggle to control the anger that was ready to spill out. Mai, the girl who had mastered calmness and control, had reached the ultimate boiling point. She didn't even want to be here and look what had happened. Had she even been in a good mood to begin with, this whole situation would have still caused her such fury to build up. Why, and how, could someone be so complicated and annoying? This was possibly the first person to have ever angered her this way. Even being pushed into a fountain hadn't upset her like this had. It baffled her how she was still around this person.
If she was actually a Royal Princess, the whole kingdom would be after this kid by now. That thought was amusing, but not amusing enough to calm the storm that had brewed inside her.
"Have you finished with your circus act? I didn't realize I'd be the main star of the show." she said bitingly, referring to his offer from earlier. With an icy glare, she really just wanted nothing more than to get away from him. But that didn't seem to work before, it was like she was a magnet around Bolin and danger seemed to attract to her. The aching from the ball, paired with the injuries from the beach crabs and the bruises she'd undoubtly get from the bumpy escape, these were nothing to her at the moment. Rage, it seemed, was the most prominent thing right now. "Oh and just so you know, your body guarding skills are awful."
Mai was calming down a bit now. Yes, she still felt pretty irritated and upset about everything, but she was really getting desperate to get out of this kids grips. Literally. If only the sand he was standing on would turn to quicksand and swallow him and his ferret whole. Almost doing a facepalm, Mai turned on her heel and began storming off in the direction of the hotel. Not even a couple of steps later and she paused, turning to look over her shoulder and forwarded a striking glare the other's way.
"One last thing. Stay away from me," she instructed firmly, now reaching the point of hoping that Bolin wouldn't follow and would keep away from her forever. Little did she know that this guy went to her school. That would definitely be a reunion she would detest, but of course this wasn't something she was aware of at this moment. Before continuing on her journey back to her room, she issued one more glare to the guy. "Or I'll seriously consider getting a restraining order." She finished it off nicely, her voice held calm, clear and unshaken by the events of the day.
Despite how incredibly pissed off she was feeling.
