headcanon ≫ affection

affection, regardless of how bitter or angry they proclaim themselves to be, comes easy to them. since they can remember they’ve been what you might call a naturally clingy person, frequently showering those they like in hugs and forehead kisses and other such gestures. aside from expressing it they enjoy being hugged or simply having another they’re fond of holding their arm / hand. despite them being almost more loving than a cat at times, they show affection to very few, mainly cause they find it hard to show any sort of actions to others they have not known for an extended period of time ( i.e others like them ). hence why if ever shown affection by someone they don’t identify as family ( but don’t quite dislike ) they’ll be taken aback and may even tense up. but will soon relax once they realize there is no harmful intent from another. in the end Gaia may as well be a cat who lives off of showing affection but freaks out when actually shown any.
