How am I going to do this .. hmm
getting ready to bind my diarys lile sketchbooks
Thinking about the exhibition.
One of my classmates had some cork board material. I was playing around with it and come up with an idea for the exhibitions.
1.Either place my September diary on the wall as the month progresses
2. Have the exhibition goers take peice of paper and put it on the wall with their day.
I would then begin to have an archive of drawings from the exhibition. Cons would be, having to come in everyday. But I do that anyway. Another would be if the public got involved there is the risk that the contraption might fall down.
The collection of diaries before I decide to bind them.
Above is one the the original diaries. - sometimes its not always practical to be buying 365 stickers.
Some unused imagery
1) using the backgrounds
2)One of the first covers for free to forget zine
3)I ended up using a very zoomed in version of this one. Good job i made the original 600dpi
4) this imagery eventually got cut, and I made a quicker transition of the story,
5)the first image i created for Forget and reflect. It developed.
I am really happy with the outcome of the zine.
I put less work, time and effort into this graphic novel, however it is the favourite of the two currently.
My graphic novel came from the printers. I’m really happy with the quality of printing. There has however been afew errors.
I wanted there to be a visible devide down the middle of my page, this is my own error.
I also dont think a perfect bound book feels right. It would have been better to saddle stitch with thinner paper.
I’m also not happy with the text, in the last moment I changed ho I was going to use text. I wanted to use the paper colour. However the printing machines at the printshop were really crisp and makes the text look abnormally out of place. The uni printers were a lot less crisp and I preferred the outcome there.
I have now successfully printed my graphic novel.
I am looking of ways to push the imagery further. I have been looking into ways of creating subtle animation techniques and apply them to the imagery I have already developed. Creating a ‘trailer’ for my graphic novel is also a possibility.
For some reason it’s flipped.
But coming up with some cover ideas.
I really wanted to utilise the white space. The typography I wanted to use was my own handwriting but decided to flit the reflection, in a cliche way.
The cover is really going to contrast with the inside pages. It matches with the first two pages of my graphic novel before it descends into darkness.
“Can documenting a memory as a trigger, help lessen the fear of forgetting and help bring consciousness into the present?”
Research question development
Some layouts I didn’t eventually use
I used a light version of indesign on my iPad to mock up my layouts. I went through so many layouts, but didnt document them all as I was changing things up every minute. It was so quick and easy to play around with this application.
Untitled artwork . Untitled artwork. Untitled artwork
One of the problems I have faced has been low quality, I tend to change the size of my image all the time which ruins the quality.
I abandon these images
