Fics under the cut, all Wolfstar 🌠
In Five Years' Time (E/WIP)
The change was in the soft breeze, the smell of fresh, clean cotton, it was in the shift of weight from one hip to the other, in the glint of the hazy late-summer sunlight turning a light-brown half-curl auburn. It was in the involuntary curling of his own toes in his shoes. Oh, he thought. Turns out I've missed you.
Five years ago, four boys stepped into their dorm at Gryffindor tower, all nervous, some hiding it better than others.
Five years later, there's nothing that makes Sirius Black nervous anymore.
Except. When he steps onto Platform 9 3⁄4, he realises that after summer, something about Remus Lupin is... different. And suddenly, Sirius has no clue what to do with his hands, how to sit right, or how he usually acts.
A coming of age, friends-to-lovers story set during the Marauders' sixth year at Hogwarts. Banter, friendship, crushes, pining and first loves. Canon timeline, hopeful ending.
A Dog in Rat's Clothing (T/4 chapters/10K)
Before he was Padfoot, Sirius was Peter.
Or: 36 hours of pure chaos follow when Sirius and Peter accidentally switch bodies, and Sirius must grapple with being somewhat short, a tad mean, and slightly gone on Remus Lupin.
The First Transformation (or: you are what you eat) (T/4K)
The plan was simple: brew a complicated potion, become animagi, surprise Remus. Be heroes.
But when he turns into a dog, Sirius starts feeling... funny. He’s too distracted - by squirrels, by nausea, by the thought of Remus’ hands - to turn back. Something’s definitely... off.
Luckily, Remus knows all about surviving transformations gone wrong.
Featuring good intentions, poor food choices, and a bit of snogging.
A Perfectly Normal Amount of Staring (T/2,5K)
Remus adores Euphemia's Christmas parties, particularly her custard cakes. But when Sirius catches him staring one too many times, he's forced to flee the scene, dragging his metaphorical (!?) tail behind him. Just for a smoke - just until he gets himself together again.
He doesn't expect Sirius to join him out in the snowstorm.
June 1976: On the Aftermath of Peter's Birthday (T/3,5K) (with gorgeous artwork by @heysaykitkat <3)
Remus shouldn’t be at Peter’s birthday party – not the day after the full moon. Not when he can barely keep his eyes open. But of course, he’s at the party anyway.
Sirius notices; worries; finally convinces him to go upstairs - for a quick smoke only. When he makes to leave, Remus’ voice comes through the darkness; fragile and soft.
‘Please stay’.
The Yule Ball of 1976 (T/3K)
'You look nice,' Sirius says. Every. Single. Week. Remus wishes he wouldn't.
Or: Remus doesn’t want to go to the Yule Ball. He can’t dance, hates his dress robes, and has accidentally agreed to pretend to be Sirius Black's boyfriend so he doesn't have to find a date. That will be fine, right?
What's a Blowie between Besties? (E/2K)
It was Sirius, far more than the alcohol, that made Remus’ head buzz and swim and swirl, his knees buckle. The tingle of his tongue and the feeling of day-old stubble rasping his chin, and oh, oh, those lips that he’d spent years, centuries – ‘Fuck,’ he couldn’t help but breathe into the air between them, ‘Fuck, fuck.’ ‘Shhh,’ Sirius whispered, ‘it’s alright. Just a bit of fun.’
A Fractured Inheritance (T/5K)
Being Sirius Black's boyfriend isn't always easy. One has to put up with a good amount of ego and grandiose story-telling (Remus loves it, really).
Take Sirius' 17th birthday: he's been talking about it for weeks, if not months. "You'll see, Moony, I’ll take you out for a real fancy meal in a real fancy French bistro, none of that cheap chip shop stuff you so rudely prefer; we’ll eat snails and frog bums and you’re going to love it."
So, now the big day is finally here, why does Remus find him in the windowsill, looking despondent and miserable? And if he's going to fix it, is he really going to have to speak to Regulus Black, that miserable little ghost of a boy?
Show Me What You'd Do To Me (E/1K)
Sirius doesn’t believe in ascribing intentions or emotions to inanimate objects or body parts. The sun doesn’t shine happily, it simply shines. His idiot brother’s prefect badge doesn’t sparkle just to taunt him (right?). But there’s something about this particular erection that he can really only describe as decidedly hopeful.
Five times Regulus stopped Sirius from leaving, and one time he let him go (T/10K/6 chapters)
The first time Sirius tried to escape, Regulus was only four.
The second time, he’d just been trying to practice flying in the backyard.
The third time was the first time he stuck his mingling nose in – Potter.
The fourth time Regulus threatened to get father involved.
The fifth time was the first time Sirius didn’t ask Regulus to come with him.
And the sixth time? Well.
Sneezing under the Mistletoe (E/7K)
The first sneeze had actually been quite adorable. A tiny little, hesitant: ‘...chee!’ The way he'd crinkled his freckly nose, quickly blinked his eyes after, as if he'd lost his bearings. The way he'd quickly straightened out his face, sat up; said, in a polite, controlled tone: ‘excuse me.’ By the time the thirtieth eardrum-busting sneeze rolled around, it wasn't all that adorable anymore.
It's Christmas Eve. Sirius and Remus have been on their feet in the cold all day for a mission. Sirius was only slightly distracted by the way the snowflakes clung to Remus' curls.
They've finally made their way to a ridiculously Christmassy Bed & Breakfast to warm up and have some dinner. All is well - except now, Moony won't stop sneezing.
But hey, at least there are two rooms left at the B&B. Until there aren't...
January, 1979: An Unforeseen Resolution (T/4K) (with gorgeous artwork by @frangipanen)
Sirius knows how to handle the aftermath of a full moon. Blood? Pain? He doesn’t wince anymore.
But what he can’t handle is being responsible for Remus’ pain.
In the aftermath of pulling Remus into danger rather than out of it, both of them rethink what it means to fight side by side.
Everything in the world is about sex. Except for sex, which is about power. (E/1K)
He comes home late that night, still frustrated from having to have counted down 786 minutes since he’s last seen Remus. He finds him in bed, naked, with large, suggestive eyes and a wide, suggestive grin. Sirius tackles him, straddles him, devours his mouth, all while simultaneously trying to take off his own clothes. Remus lets out a long, surprised, needy moan. Today, Sirius has decided, it’s not enough. Today, Remus is going to have to use his words.
Your Mess is Mine (M/12 chapters/21K)
Sirius Black escaped Azkaban after 12 years of false imprisonment. All that time, Remus Lupin has technically been a free man. And yet, he's been stuck in a prison of his own: guilt, regret, endless grief.
The day they meet again is the day the first crack of thaw appears. In true Sirius dramatics, he flees the country immediately after.
A few days later, a loud, large, brightly coloured bird appears at Remus' window, carrying a letter...
Or: answering the age-old question of what on earth Professor Lupin got up to during Goblet of Fire. A story of two damaged men hesitantly finding their way back to each other, of love against the odds.
Lie Low at Posada de Cachorritos (with Lupin) (E/4 chapters/22K)
When Remus apparates home after that terrible night in the Shack, he expects crowds with torches and pitchforks, his landlord with an eviction notice, or worst of all, his eternally disappointed father. He does not expect his ex boyfriend, on his garden bench, patiently waiting to whisk him off to Spain for sun, adventure, and bird-watching. He gorges himself on watermelon, keeps them both slattered in sunscreen, and forces Sirius to stay Padfoot far longer than strictly necessary. Along the way, he may learn a thing or two about what it means to let go, to love, and to belong.
The Unexpected Gardener (T/2K)
Remus’ heart missed a beat – several – how many beats was safe for a heart to skip? – before he hid behind the tree. Sinking to his knees, resting his head against the trunk, eyes closed, hand on the wood. Trying to catch his breath. A coincidence. It must be a coincidence… No. Skinny, ragged, missing tufts of hair? It didn’t matter. That was his Padfoot.
The Daily Horoscoop: Love, Loss and Second Chances under the Strawberry Moon (T/2K)
There’s a full moon tonight. But the stars are telling a much larger story.
Or: on the morning before the events at the Shrieking Shack, Remus reads Sirius’ horoscope out of grief. Sirius reads Remus’ out of hope. Neither of them believe a word of it, of course. And... yet -
Moonlight Desires: A Tale of Forbidden Passion (E/3 chapters/1,8K) (co-written with @theblueblues-ao3 who deserves most if not all of the credit for this!! <3 And including amazing artwork by @frangipanen and @meteoralinart)
Professor Lupin was Hermione's first wet dream. He was the sort of man whose classes were impeccable, whose notes were always in order, but who'd never lost the mischievous sparkle in his eye. The sort of man worth keeping secrets for.
That was until she met Sirius Black and realised she'd never stood a chance. These two were obviously soulmates. Obviously meant to be doing it doggy-style all night long.
While the rest of Grimmauld Place is sleeping, MoonlitScholar1991 gets out the secret notebook from under her mattress and lets her wildest werewolf fantasies run wild.
Or: Hermione writes Wolfstar Smut.
The Scenic Route, or: Remus Lupin's Perfectly Pleasant Birthday (E/6,7K)
It’s Remus’ birthday, and Sirius has had the brilliant idea to let him plan the itinerary. Accidentally forgetting that Remus’ idea of a perfect day involves riding the muggle bus; an hours-long outing to an exhibition on magical transportation; walking through the rain; and an ungodly amount of reading about steam trains.
Luckily, indulging Remus’ fondness for the scenic route also comes with its particular rewards.
Famous Last Words, or: We're Only Getting One (1) Cat (G/2,5K)
With all of Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione's kids off at Hogwarts, Remus and Sirius' house feels a lot emptier on weekends. And sure, Remus has his miniature boat collection and his ever-improving eel aquarium, but he's been thinking. It might be nice to bring a bit more life into their cottage. It might be nice to adopt a cat. Just one. Naturally.
Things Worth Revisiting (G/1,5K)
Remus has made his peace with many things: the moon, the prejudice, the cycle of employment and dismissal. Going to University was never in the cards for him. Especially not now, at 51. Sirius disagrees.
The Many Sounds of Remus Lupin (E/1K)
But most of all – yes, above all else… he loves his whimpers. The whimpers that only escape when he's at his least guarded. Accidental, needy; brief.
On Brotherhood (T/1,2K)
Some brothers are blood, some are not. With some, it’s simple, straightforward, happy and lovely. Others are dark and twisted, complicated and sad. And somehow, you love them just the same. Or: on James' birthday, Sirius and Remus reminisce.
there's nothing here yet :)
