So first just let me say that manacled is perhaps the best written fan fiction that I have ever read! I know you get this a lot but your ability to plot, structure, and then just write the shit out of an amazing idea... It’s amazing!
Where there any resources/reference books for human psychology that you utilized while writing manacled?
Oh thank you so much. So, haha, I had a whole phase in my teens where I was obsessed with reading people, so I got books on body language, hand-writing analysis, marketing, human psychology, child development, kinesics, etc some of it was total garbage, other parts gave some very interesting perspective but weren’t much good as standalone information, and I was also had a lot of news curation apps especially later in college to feed into my science article addiction and I use to have a nightmare of a commute for work so I’d listen to podcasts like freakonomics, hardcore history, the moth, etc.
So... all that to say, I don't know, it all kind of added up over the years. I’d remember details that I’d heard or read and then I’d google articles and read studies in order to brush up before including the various details. It wasn’t a very hard and fast science.
However, some of my favorites that I’ve gone back to over the years, and even included in Manacled, are:

What Every Body Is Saying by Navarro
How Children Succeed by Tough (which led me down a psychology of childhood trauma rabbit hole that I still have not reemerged from)
The Art of Worldly Wisdom by Baltasar Gracian, I honest to god love that book so much I’ve read multiple translations of it.
