Apparently, you yourself are a person of science. You are someone who takes interest in his passions and ambitions. Due to such, you take pity in him after he was released from prison should he not go to the Manor and he wasn’t sentenced to death. You provided him shelter and warmth, which he takes a while to get used to. During the first few days, he was skeptical towards your hospitality. You got close to him through commissions, asking him to invent various machines for your own personal benefits, though you did not discredit him and showed him the appreciation he deserves.
After some time, it wasn’t just about Luca returning your favor through inventions. To you, his well-being gains more gravity with each passing day. You started paying more attention to him when he is working, making sure that he wouldn’t be harmed for being too absorbed in his work and not being careful. Time moves even further, and now you find yourself cooking him his favourite food and bringing it to him in the middle of his work, paying attention to the amount of sleep he had each day, and over all worrying about his health.
It was really hard. Luca is an overall pleasant gentleman with a princely attitude once you’ve earned his utmost trust and respect. And by the time you had, it’s also the same time he had been enamoured by your genuine benevolence. It takes him quite the courage and resolve to finally confess to you. On your birthday, not something containing an electrical contraption he had made for you, but rather, a simple music box as your gift from him. It plays a calming melody that establishes peace in the soul. Though you are someone who usually favours practicality, it doesn’t take a reason for you to value this present of his.
Luca is very meticulous in the way he acts and what he says to you. Being in prison has shaped him into this person who is afraid of displeasing and disappointing someone, let alone his soulmate. He’s good at hiding his anxiety, though. It’s when he realizes that you’re happy whenever he is happy that things started to take a turn. He begins to set his feelings free and be more open towards you. One time he got too emotional when the two of you are spending time together; he accidentally electrocuted you with the touch of his hand. He broke down immediately and started apologizing through his tears. You shrugged it off, and embraced him right afterwards, whispering right into his ears, “It pains me more seeing you tormented for being kept away from doing what you want than suffering the consequences that comes with such action.”
Luca would still have seizure attacks from his anxiety, though it has happened far less frequently after the two of you opened up to eachother. Now, Luca’s brain damage would act up whenever his past trauma resurfaces. You’ve promised him to always be by his side whenever, so you can calm him and protect him when his seizure does attack.
The two of you then started discovering the world together. That, there are much more potentially meaningful things beyond science and machinery. All these new experiences had helped the two of you grow, into someone more cherishing of what the two of you had in between, to understand the love the two of you shared better.

· Luca is a smart guy; he knows when he has fallen in love but that doesn't mean he will just go and confess his love right away. no, he had his fair share of experiences especially surrounding the topic of trust. he would take his time to understand his feeling and about you more.
· he would start by playing his cards right, hiding behind the nice gentleman facade that every girl would swoon over. his main priority right now is to find out if you could be someone he could love and would love him back, someone who would not break his trust.
· this stage might seem like a test and he would feel guilty about it but he knows that this is necessary so he won't be hurt badly like before. once this stage is over and he knows for sure that you don’t have any type of ill intentions towards him only then he would actually open up to you.
· Luca would start to actively seek your presence and will try to win your heart over as best as he can. he would flirt, give you presents, send you many heart-warming letters and other cheesy stuff. he might not seem like it but deep down he's just a hopeless romantic.
· the day he would confess to you he'd be very nervous and would try to set up the right mood, he'd ask Victor and Andrew to help him plan out a candle lit dinner in his room. he would dress as nicely as he can and only after dinner will he ask you to be his SO.
· your relationship with him would be a hard one. because of his brain injury he might get seizures from time to time, he would often forget or misplace important stuff, he might remember his past and break down crying, or he might have bad nightmares that would leave him breathless almost every night. sometimes he thought that he doesn't deserve you and might push you away at times, but trust me if you keep on being stubborn and stays by his side, he would try to make you the happiest person on earth.

Note: (This story takes place after Luca was freed from prison and he managed to clear his name and continue his research.)
It was a peaceful night, or at least you thought it was.
You woke up with a dry throat in the middle of the night, you looked to the side to see your fiancé sleeping peacefully with a serene face.
Smiling a little, you tried your best to get out of the bed without waking him up. Luckily enough, he was in deep sleep this time to notice anything.
You made your way to the kitchen, got yourself a glass of water, then downed it in a single shot. Your throat refreshed afterwards. You were on your way back when you heard someone whining as if they’re in pain. You recognize the voice, it was Luca.
Panic shot right through you; he was having yet another nightmare. You immediately rushed to your (and his) room. He’s been having nightmares about his time back in prison lately, his trauma never managed to go away.
You have to go back to him, you thought. You have to calm him down; he becomes vulnerable during this time and who knows what might happen next. His seizure might act up if he doesn’t calm down soon.
The closer you are to the room, the louder the whines became, this time with loud and desperate shouts.
“No, no please. I beg of you. I’ll do it right next time. Just please, please don’t hit me!!!” He shouted as he trashed around in bed.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I promise I’ll do it right, just stop the pain!!!”
“It hurts!!! My head can’t take this anymore!!”
“No!! Not THAT again, please I’ll do what you want JUST PLEASE NOT THAT!!”
It pains you how he still remembered how badly he was treated. The scars have started to heal but the memories stayed. But this was no time to feel sad, you immediately shook him to wake him up from the nightmare, shouting his name to help him snap out of it.
When he finally woke up, he had the expression of that of a man who had been both physically and mentally scarred. He looked like a child that’d seen a ghost. His eyes were wide as tears started to flow down to his cheeks. His breathing laboured as he let out tiny gasps.
“W-what? It was j-just a dream?” He said as he stuttered. You assured him that that was merely a dream and that he’s now in safe hands.
He hugged you as hard as he can as he tried to calm down. You wrapped your hands around him too, with your left hand slowly caressing his hair as you whispered calming words to his ear.
“I’m scared, mi amor. They were about to h-hit me and o-order me to do t-that” He stuttered yet again. He must’ve been talking about the electrocution he had during an experiment he was told to do. It had failed many times causing his body to be electrocuted so much that it became a permanent conductor. It also caused him a mild brain damage that is currently, slowly recovering.
You continued to whisper calming words to him, saying how everything’s alright now and that you’re here with him.
“Thank you, mi amor. I don’t know what’d happen to me if you weren’t here to wake me up from that nightmare.”
You only held him closer, praying that one day he’d be free of the nightmares and could finally live happy as a free man. You promised to yourself that you’ll always be by his side should the nightmares ever come again.
Luca doesn’t deserve any of this.
