When you know, you know. Y’know?
I can’t believe he exists.
Two months ago, I was crying over a boy who didn’t want me or didn’t think I was ‘worth it’ anymore.
Now, I’m thankful he let me go. I am so incredibly happy. I can’t express this enough. I love being by myself and living for myself again. Never will i ever let anyone make me feel so inferior or insignificant ever again. I know what I deserve and I won’t ever settle for less than that.
I finally found the good in good-bye.
I am free. I am whole. I am enough.
I couldn’t have loved you more nor less.
I tried, and I will continue to try...but for now, I hope you’re happy.
You told me to stop caring so much, so now I don't care at all.
That love our grandparents had, people say they want that but they don’t. They don’t want to work for it, they don’t want any part of it. It’s a nice vision, a nice picture to hang on the wall or something to claim as a “goal” but people don’t really want that. It requires too much selflessness and responsibility, too much detachment from outside temptations and too much focus on partnership. It requires too much work from our self-centred generation. It’s not impossible to achieve but it’s extremely rare and if you have that, you are one of the lucky ones. Cherish it.
If you dont value your time, no one else will. Stop freely giving away your time and talents. Understand your value & start charging for it!

You can’t be good enough for everybody, but you’ll always be the best for the one who deserves you.

Our lives in one picture!!
Yeah…
Are you part of my path, or just a detour?
Either way, I'm glad you're here.
Life is better than you think.

Honestly, it’s hard to be a woman in this business. I have to prove myself over and over again. So many people have said to me, “You don’t play like a girl!” They think it’s a compliment. But actually, I do play like a girl. This is what girls play like. People hear with their eyes: They see a “girl” and are surprised when they hear the power and prowess that they associate with “boys.” By getting onstage and throwing down while looking the way I do, I am breaking stereotypes. I am a woman. I am a dyke. I am a tomboy. I play jazz.

—a great article about being a woman and also a jazz musician. If you get to the end and you don’t want to learn more about the author (Allison Miller) I’d say you were doing it wrong.
