— ‘beauty and grace’ those are the qualities often attributed to her and she was the embodiment of those words for there was no one who can glide across the floor as gracefully as her nor anyone who outmatched the beauty in which she is so blessed with. of course to herself she found those sentiments preposterous, she was no prettier than anybody else and hardly graceful; why just a few moments ago she almost utterly humiliated herself when she stepped on the skirts of her dress. luckily she righted herself quickly enough, surprised at not being caught for everyone’s eyes were on her. in fact they were still on her, watching her every step, it felt very suffocating indeed to have so many eyes on her as if she were some sort of mythical being. and trust her she knew what mythical beings looked like, no doubt in the many books she read, and she was most definitely a plain normal human being albeit a bit odd.
a soft sigh escaped her lips as she moved about the room, hoping to escape those looks in which she detested so much. she could not quite understand it, considering the ball’s rich atmosphere, she was hardly worth looking at. she being the daughter of but a modest man, who was often at the unfortunate end of many unpleasant rumors. with another grim look about the place she turned on her heel meaning to form some sort of escape from prying eyes when her body accidentally collided with another. she managed to stop herself from toppling over, before her mind catches up with what just happened. forget beauty and grace, her father above all else taught her the importance of politeness. a trait in which she actually feels pride in. which is why she immediately bows her head to whoever she just collided with. “my apologies...please forgive my rudeness.”
