Day 2: A Guided Tour
Things move pretty fast round here so I had the head runner (Abel? No wait that's the towns name...ah fuck it I can't remember his name, lets call him Mr Abel) give me the guided tour around the base. Things look pretty sturdy I have to say. The base is well set up and that farmhouse gives it a kind of homely feel I think. Also got a look at one of the guys running the radio whilst looking at "The Quad". A bit TOO much of a look. Definitely picking up belts if I see any next time.
Anyway, went on a supply run. Doesn't seem too bad. Don't get me wrong, the smell and the running for your life isn't exactly great, but it's nice to feel useful. I mean you wouldn't think a mobile phone would mean so much nowadays but Mr Abel (His name is Evan, just found the cheat sheet Sam passed me. But I think Mr Abel is a good name to right?) assures me that the communications people here can work wonders with it. I'll take his word. They did manage to sort out a radio after all. Managed to find a parachute drop although had to get a move on sharpish because of a few shufflers showing up.
The surrounding area tour was great although I kind of did get a look from the plane but, hey, don't wanna interrupt a guy whilst he's in full swing right? And there was some stuff I didn't know like about that other base, the one that got burnt down. Sucks that all those people died but I guess if you're stupid enough to start a fire right? God and if they were growing pot then...well I don't know if zombies can even get high but if they could, that must have been some night for them.
Anyway, once the tour was over we headed back. Managed to pick up a few things. Heard on the radio there's been an influx of supplies lately thanks to a new runner ;) You're welcome Abel. Not sure what's in store tomorrow but I'm sure i'll find out soon enough.
