Recently, I travelled to beyond The Wall in the North (Yay GoT reference!) AKA Scotland, where I found a sense of tranquility amongst the scenery. Losing myself amongst the strange, but enchanting Scottish culture was a refreshing escape from the mundane daily life of an East Midlands dweller like myself. The experience was like bathing in warm spring filtered water with a hint of whisky and nibbling on freshly made shortbread.
I found myself more at home when introduced to the abundance of greenery and the breathtaking curves of mother nature's bosom, which we have come to know as "The Scottish Highlands". The main motive was to visit friends I met in a past trip to Prestwick beach, however there was only a short gap in our itinerary where we met up and threw some shapes across the dance floor at a club, with a hot tub and an inflatable obstacle run. (wtf right!?)
Let me also introduce the beautiful travelling companion, Mary. An Erasmus (university temporary transfer program) student, who has spent the prior few weeks touring the UK on by herself, and a first class design student who was in my class. By chance, we were in the city of Nottingham on the same day and met up for food & drinks at The Harvester. We explored the city for any snapping opportunities we could find (being mutual Photography enthusiasts), before the plan of escaping to the north was conceived.
