#TBT to when our uniforms were just windbreakers. We've come so far in the past few years- just check out those hats! We'll have brand new uniforms again soon- so keep coming to check us out! (Also, second #tbt to last year in Indianapolis!)

Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing our executive team. Next up is our fearless leader, President Jenn! Hey I am Jenn with 2 n’s, MMB President, political science student here at Mac. I have aspired to be the loudest clarinet since I first picked it up (and after a brief stint with a couple of saxophones, I returned to my true love, my clarinet). I love MMB because of the community that has come together and moves forward together (and backwards, and diagonally, and makes cool shapes sometimes too) and it is my hope to build up a band that fits into McMaster’s already spirited climate so that all those on campus know we’re here for them as their personal hype squad! I’m a history nerd, hobbyist writer, lover of manga, soccer fanatic. I am a cat person, a dog person, a raining cats and dogs person. I’m always hungry, but even more so, always wanting to meet new people and make new friends; this Jenn here welcomes you to come check us out as a spectator at one of our many events, or as one of our own members. Either way, MMB has a place for you 

Good Morning! Over the next few weeks, we are going to be introducing this year's executive team. First up, we have the guy who manages all the money: our Finance Director My name is Bryalen Fernandes and I’m in my 5th year of Electrical Engineering. This is my 5th year playing the snare drum for the McMaster Marching Band and I was recently elected to be the band’s Finance Director. When I joined the marching band, I didn’t know anything about marching percussion. I get to come to practice every day with the chance to learn something new. I’ve been in the band long enough at this point where I can pay that forward and help new members who join the drumline learn how to drum as well. On top of that, I get to make new friends and share some incredible experiences with those new friends. It’s been one of the best parts of my university experience. One of the many things I hope to accomplish this year is to get the entire band outfitted in new uniforms. It’s going to be a bit of a challenge since uniforms are a bit pricy (and the Canadian dollar isn’t doing so well) but I’ve seen this band overcome quite a few obstacles to get to the point it is at right now, so I’m confident we’ll be able to get this done as well. FUN FACT: Every year the band gives out fun awards to each of its members. This past year I got ‘Mst srs bzns’… Did I mention I’m the band’s Finance Director?

Congratulations to James, our trumpet player across the pond, for finishing his degree! We expect to see you back at practice now, James!

So while you're having a blast this long weekend, remember to keep your empties because MMB will be around to pick them up post-Victoria Day! We are raising money for our trip to the World Drumline Competition stage in Indianapolis this summer, so please give us your empties!

Good morning! MMB has good news for you- it's Friday! Any musical plans for the long weekend?

This is Paul. He took over as our Drumline Instructor in late January and has helped out with our gold-rated Soundsport team this year as well. Tomorrow, he is travelling to the States where he has been contracted to perform with the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps this Summer. We would like to wish Paul and the Blue Stars the best of luck this season. See you guys in August!
