ON PERSONA
A constructed hallucination, softening, mysterious, and ritualistic. Performed at Villa Heike, Berlin (Freienwalder Str. 17, 13055) during the vernissage on Friday, August 8, 2025, starting at 8:30 PM, the set lasted approximately two hours.
A sound dream of real-world fragments, the mix unfolds through layers of devotional drones, fractured voices, and ritual atmospheres. I manipulated clean instrumental timbres alongside processed noise bursts, tape manipulations, field recordings, and voice fragmentsโlooped, layered, and eroded in real time. Dissonant harmonics and glitch textures generate tension, with themes emerging and fading in a psychological, almost cinematic arc. The set reflects internal states of mental discomfort and introspection, exploring the interplay between control and chaos, where identity flickers and masks multiply.
Drawing from artists such as Lussuria, Bathory Legion/VRNA, Nurse With Wound, Graham Bowers, and Current 93, the set weaves dread, tenderness, absurdity, and distortion into a ritualized sonic passage. It responds to the exhibitionโs concept: identity emerging through its appearance, highlighting the dynamic interplay between inner and outer, self and mask.
Dreamssplit into ash, the dead carried into sound. Pianos become wounds, guitarsโconfessions.
Masks multiply. A stranger with a sad heart joins the procession.
