Since one or two folks have expressed ādisappointmentā in me because of my āshadow work isnāt a requirement for practicing magicā post, Iām doubling down and reminding everyone that as far as Iām concerned nothing is a requirement for practicing magic except actually practicing magic. Nothing is a requirement for being a witch except practicing magic and choosing to call yourself a witch.
I have a theory that some people find themselves unable to progress in their practices until they master a certain skill because that skill was a requirement FOR THEM, for their particular practice, laid out for them by their specific spirits, to accommodate their specific needs. And then sometimes they assume that their experience is universal. Did you have to 100% master protect spells, banishments, and divination before you could get spirit contact to work for you consistently? Then maybe those were the requirements for your particular path to get to spirit work. That wasnāt my experience. I started with spirit work, no pre-requisites to speak of. We had different paths to get to same goal, and thatās fine. Some people are born with amazing singing voices, some people have to take years of lessons to be able to carry tune. Weāre all doing our own thing, and itās going to look different for everyone - even two people in the same lineage with the same teacher are going to have variations.
So letās stop pretending that there are universal milestones that everyone and their mother has to acomplish. You can do what you believe is necessary for you, and I will continue to never do shadow work.

1. Great message. Absolutely amazing that you stick to your beliefs regardless of what other people say.
2. As a techno witch, I have literally been told by people that tech isnāt magical and that techno magic isnāt witchcraft at all. Have also been told that I need to ātouch grass and get in touch with the divine through natural thingsā. Let me be the first to say that I am not, nor will I ever be an outdoor person. I am also terrified of certain animals and creatures that exist in nature. So again, good job on sticking to your beliefs.
3. Witchcraft is a craft thus the name. Craft is artistic, so be your own artist and burn with fury at those who try to knock you down cause you donāt come from the same school of thought as them.

this always baffles me. the imagined cartoon magic was to use scrying to contact someone far away. now you can literally do that with 2 clicks. that's magick. science doesn't call technology "magick" because by its own definition, it can't. it does recognize the power of the digital world and magickal tools like a smartphone, so much so that it tries to control our technomagick all the time.
crystals are lovely. but smartphones... they're actually dangerous to the systems in place. now you can film/livestream authority figures abuse. you can get almost any news you want. any book, any song, any movie, tv show, or video.
you can literally access worlds, spaces, and industries that were impossible before. u can be a poet, a writer, a singer.
now, you can be... a real-life witch.
if you learn basic coding... that's literally casting spells. you write something in a weird language, activate it, and then it'll produce some result/change.
the truth is: witchcraft and magick have always been technology. using tools to get what you want? CRAFTING tools? "programming" them? it's time to accept that most of the ritualistic tools were products of their time. it's not very bright to underestimate such powerful tools like a smartphone just because you get your tools shopping list from the delusions of a catholic man' book from 1500
