i'm black myself, i have dreads on my own and i actually kinda like it when white people like something about my culture cause they think it looks good for example and they wanna try out. that's what globalization is about, get over it. even a culture can be shared.

there’s a difference between culture appreciation and culture appropriation. 

this is taken from a website on the difference between appreciation and appropriation:

it’s appropriating a culture. it’s just like not being indian and wearing the bindi (which is worn by both men and women as a symbol of their religion, social cast and marital status. In most Indian cultures, a married person wears a red bindi.) it’s not a fashion trend. it’s part of a culture. you can’t just put it on thinking it’s pretty. that’s why it pisses me off when people that are not black and wear dreadlocks thinking it’s “cool.” it’s part of a culture. respect it.
