It’s a travesty lol. But renfield does turn up in the last weirdest ep it’s all just so yikes.

ive finished the first episode and tbh it’s. it’s not............... like it’s not GOOD, nothing steven moffat ever writes is good but the visuals are nice and some of the banter is mildly entertaining but it’s just so weirdly paced and more importantly it’s not... DRACULA. if it was a regular vampire story then it wouldn’t be half bad. but it’s not.. dracula.

       catherine had only met anne of cleves a couple of times. between the war in france and henry’s declining health, not to mention her… close call, as it were. still, in her few interactions with the woman, catherine had quickly come to discover A FRIEND, someone she respected immensely, could care deeply about. someone she could actually be a little human around.

       so when anne came into the room, she instantly took her hands and pulled her in for a hug. ❝ oh anne, ❞ she breathed, ❝ thank you for coming. ❞ while she may not have initially wanted to marry the king, she had grown to care for him. and losing yet another husband, especially with edward still underage, she was terrified about what came next. ❝ i’m sorry i wasn’t there to GREET YOU when you arrived. i’ve had much to do with preparations for…everything. ❞

    It was nice, to be embraced, to be with a friend. Anne’s arms wrapped around her, breathing whatever comfort she could into the Queen. Her eyes scanned Catherine’s face for a moment, noting how tired she seemed, how grieved she was. She did not blame her. They had both grown fond of Henry, but it seemed that Catherine was taking it worse than she had thought.

    “ I came as soon as I was asked. I will always be Your Majesties humble servant. I only wish that we were meeting under.. better circumstances.”

    “It has gotten me many places.” He takes a few moments to note the turns and doors they pass, though he has no real intention of doing much roaming when he had Ezekiel’s company at the ready. He lets his gaze linger at Ezekiel before looking to the door.

Amusement twinkled in her eyes as she played along, nails carefully painted to match her outfit of the day tapping on the wooden surface of one of the Library’s many tables. She allowed her eyes to drift toward the ceiling as if deeply considering for a moment before giving a definitive nod. “Definitely Benjamin Franklin Cillian. It simultaneously says we’re a very modern couple, and yet at the same time if you leave out the Franklin you can sign everything BC. Is it a name? Is it a date? We’ll leave that for them to decide.”

   The more he thought about it, the nicer it seemed, even if it was just a joke. He wasn’t going to lie and say that the idea of maybe getting married to someone at some point wasn’t appealing to him. Especially if that person was Cass... though he’d have nothing to complain about if he walked Flynn or Jake or even Jenkins down the aisle. But Cass would be preferable, even if he didn’t think he deserved it much.

   “You say that like getting married to you is a threat. Also they’d have a hell of a time trying to RSVP with something like that. I like it.”
