wove my first coconut palm leaf basket with the skilled and graceful hands of @rockin_roquin and @hafaroldy generous queer Chamoru art babes - bottom two imgs is the basket after freezing and thawing it to brown. weaving and other Polynesian/indigenous arts, bring me closer to those in the malae, brings me to myself, and puts me in a place of profound respect, humility, and alofa for all life as well as all of our ancestors. that said, i realized talking amongst ourselves in the weaving circle that you need to be specific when you call on your ancestors because not all of them have the right advice to give for the task at hand. i swear one of them is constantly whispering in my ear to be sluttier when i need career and financial guidance. "it's hard for me, and i'm trying, okay!?" 😭, i'll say. "EH, taumafai malosi", they'll say. "is this okay?" rolls up short sleeves higher* "O se amataga", they'll sigh. all things said and done with love of course. 🤙🏽🌺

there is a bookstore UN Liberty called "The Bookstore". it is inhabited by the spitting image of an aged Log Lady, and two cats, one with dazzling eyes and the other with dazzling fur. it reminds me of the U District Twice Sold Tales before it was Chase'd away.
