We believe that the development of a concrete proletarian feminist line must be rooted in an analysis of the objective forces which motivate
âThe oppression of women has an economic basis, in the form of the extraction of reproductive labor in the domestic sphere, and an ideological expression (patriarchy) connected to legal and social repression.
This is only intensified in the contemporary conjuncture as the monopoly capitalist pursuit of superprofits and relentless expansive drive meets new barriers; the general tendency of the rate of profit to fall demands that the imperialist bourgeoisie open new fields for exploitation in order to constantly raise the rate of surplus value and stave off crises. They have found such an opportunity in the superexploitation of women in oppressed nations, relying on them for cheap labor both in social production in the third world countries and cheap reproductive labor in the imperialist countries.
It should be similarly clear that the oppression faced by women is not primarily the consequence of a women â men contradiction, which is only capable of rendering the ideological expression of this oppression at the most mechanistic and vacuous level; the oppression of women is a consequence of the class struggle between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie. While any number of particular contradictions (with various levels of antagonism) do exist between women and men, these cohere only on the basis of the economic exploitation of women by the bourgeoisie, by the class struggle which gives them their content. We reject tout court the radical feminist theses regarding the primacy of the man-woman contradiction, as well as any âdual systemsâ theory which distracts from the main enemy of the womenâs struggle: the bourgeois state apparatus and capitalism-imperialism.
The fundamental contradiction facing the womenâs movement is the political contradiction between proletariat â bourgeoisie; the class struggle gives the oppression of women both its form and its content, and the liberation of women can only be realized if the proletarian revolution is carried through to the end. The contradiction women â patriarchy is a secondary contradiction which can only become principal in the context of socialist construction; patriarchy cannot be dismantled until its economic base is smashed and its ideological vestiges thoroughly rooted out, both of which will only be possible under the dictatorship of the proletariat.â

On this day, 22 December 1946, bisexual Black liberation activist Kuwasi Balagoon was born in Maryland. He joined the military, and faced violent racism both from officers and his fellow servicemen, as a result of which Balagoon and some Black comrades formed a collective called De Legislators: âFrom then on, every time a racial situation appeared, we did. Every time white G.I.s ganged a black G.I., we moved to more than even the score. One at a time we would catch up with them and beat and stomp them so bad that helicopters would have to be used to take them to better hospitals than the ones in the area. We were not playing. We would plan things so that we could kick something off inside a club that would instantly turn into a riotous conditionâonce everything was in chaos it was impossible to pick us out. We then broke faces and bodies of whoever we planned to get, and made our escape. Afterward we would have critiques, just like in the end of war games; get our alibis together; and keep the whole thing under our hats.â Later returning to civilian life, Balagoon moved to New York City and got involved in grassroots tenant organising. He soon became involved in the Black Panther Party, and was subsequently arrested and put on trial as part of the notorious Panther 21 case, who were all later acquitted. Balagoon then joined the urban guerrilla group the Black Liberation Army, and was imprisoned and escaped various times. He was eventually convicted and jailed for life for participation in the $2.8 million robbery of a Brinkâs security outlet. Balagoon kept up his radical activity in prison, authoring a number of texts, until his death from AIDS-related illness in 1986. We have made available a collection of his writings, and the autobiographies of all of the Panther 21, here: https://shop.workingclasshistory.com/collections/books/kuwasi-balagoon https://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.296224173896073/1881815385336936/?type=3
Why the fuck would you want DOJ to intervene in the donzinger case
Wikipedia has more money than you would imagine, given the desperate, pleading nature of the site's advertisments.
The Wikimedia Foundation (WMF), the non-profit that owns Wikipedia and other volunteer-written websites, is about to reach its 10-year goal of creating a $100 million endowment five years earlier than it planned. Its total funds, which have risen by about $200 million over the past five years, now stand at around $300 million. Its revenue has risen every year. In just the first nine months of its current financial year, it has raked in $142 million in donations according to an internal documentâand already obliterated its previous annual record.
This news may surprise donors and users around the world who have seen Wikipedia fundraising banners displayed at various times during the past yearâincluding, for the first time, in India. Presently shown to readers in pandemic-ridden Latin America, these banners have created a widespread impression that the WMF must be struggling to keep Wikipedia up-and-running, with tearful-sounding messages like: âThis Thursday Wikipedia really needs you. This is the 10th appeal weâve shown you. 98% of our readers donât give; they look the other way ⌠We ask you, humbly, donât scroll away.â
But keeping Wikipedia online is a task that the WMF could comfortably manage on $10 million a year, according to a casual 2013 estimate by Erik MĂśller, its VP of engineering and product development at the time. So what does the WMF do with all the money? It has used the funds to hire hundreds of additional staff and put money aside for a rainy day. It has ambitious plans to âbecome the essential infrastructure of the ecosystem of free knowledge.â And it is prepared to tell Wikipedia readers it really needs their money when it is richer than ever.
[âŚ]
Moreover, the WMF is launching a for-profit company named Wikimedia, LLC. This will sell API services to big tech companies, making it easier for them to process Wikimedia content, which powers voice assistants like Appleâs Siri and Amazonâs Alexa as well as Googleâs infoboxes. These smart internet of things devices all draw on content from Wikipedia to create their aura of omniscience. The Wikimedia, LLC project fills many of Wikipediaâs volunteer writers with unease. They see profits as a potentially corrupting influence. And thereâs a perceived inequality in WMF staff being paid, while volunteers work for free. Wikipedia has been built with around 3 billion individual âedits.â The average edit currently brings the WMF around 4.3 cents in annual revenue, and now far greater profits to big tech. Wikipedians who have made hundreds of thousands of edits may well feel someone else is enjoying the fruit of their labor.

so, with the miss universe contestants having arrived in occupied palestine, they are being taught how to make traditional palestinians foods, dressed in traditional palestinian thobes, and taught traditional palestinian dances
as this celebration of appropriated culture was taking place in the west bank, this was gaza:
over two million people are trapped under a constant air, sea, and land blockade, inside one of the worldâs largest cages
while miss universe contestants celebrate stolen culture, the genocide is ongoing. while they danced and sang and feasted and posted under the tourist hashtag of #visit_israel, the israeli government held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the continued oppression and ethnic cleansing of the very people whoâs culture is advertised and consumed as a tourist attraction
im completely serious when i say this online moderation is one of the nastiest most thankless jobs of the modern world. not talking about the guy who runs your video game discord, but the people who are tasked with clearing up major websites and social media of the filth there. read a chilling article a few years back about how this was done by underpaid workers and often from developing countries (because of course) who would get for most, lasting psychological damage from what they had seen. the internet is held up by invisible people you will never hear about despite their hard work
For those of you who havenât been keeping up.
The Navy spilled 14,000 gallons of fuel into the water on Oâahu. They said nothing for a whole week, and only admitted error when the residents on the military base started getting sick.
The spill contains petroleum, which is linked to a multitude of long term issues. Currently, residents are complaining of nausea, burning skin and headaches.
A well on the island is being shut off because it borrows from the military water supply. This well provides over 20% of the water on the island. Residents are being told to ration water, and no one is sure if the entire water supply is contaminated. We have no answers, no solutions, except wait for symptoms and pray you donât fall ill.
US greed and imperialism will kill my people. US occupation kills my people.
They come with poisoned supplies and deadly viruses. Same story different century.

it is absolutely wild to me how many people i see saying that âtaiwan is an independent country facing chinese imperialism.â i was taught about the one-china policy in school, in south carolina no less. i know its american propaganda at work but it seems like something that is talked about a lot?
like the official taiwanese policy is that taiwan is a province of china, just a different government than the one currently in charge. the united states does not recognize taiwan as a country, nor do they recognize it as the legitimate government of china. both china and taiwan agree that one of the two of them owns all of china, including taiwan. why is the public perception so different even among leftist? its frustrating.
South Africa is being punished for being smart and honest when the new Covid variant was detected in Europe a while ago but they didnât report it. How does that work
I just wanna remind people that Moderna did vaccine trials in South Africa but has refused to allow SA to produce vaccines for the continent and opted out of providing South Africa with vaccines earlier this year. Pfizer is only allowing South Africa to produce vaccines starting in 2022

Donât use a gas oven to heat your home or run your car in the garage
Carbon monoxide kills you so quick. Please all do not do this.
Drip both hot and cold on all faucets + open the cupboards that house the pipes because if you donât your pipes will burst and youâll have massive flooding.
Iâm bringing this around again because itâs getting cold in some places and Iâve been getting things to prepare for if we get another freeze in a few months. Since then, the official death toll of the freeze sits at 210, while Buzzfeed reported in May that the true count is likely much higherâ around 700. It also caused one of the worst mass carbon monoxide poisonings in recent US history.
I have very little faith that Governor Abbott has done âall that needs to be doneâ to protect the grid and itâs weighing on me as we get closer to winter.
i saw an argie on twitter being âoutragedâ and âexhaustedâ bc in twitter there are no awareness threads or tweets about the police brutality in argentina⌠like why is it so important to u that some random users rt a tweet when they can do virtually nothing to help with the situation? thereâre no mutual aids or donation funds they can even donate to. if u want to do something about it u should attend the protest and join a political party where u can help the victims. u shouldnât be crying on twitter abt yanquis not caring.
i get the sentiment tho bc i think most of us who have been using social media with a lot of usamericans feel like the us itâs always at the centre leaving the rest of the worldâs problems ignored. and we get angry. but at least from my pov i think the posts or tweets abt political issues arent really activism and dont really mean anything in real life events. yeah sure, maybe if u dont read the news or watch tv or talk with ppl irl or have never done any actual activism it does feel like doing something but it really isnt. so like we should stop trying to copy or mimic this way of thinking even if it makes u mad that a post abt x state having a liberal as a governor has more notes than ur posts abt abortion in latam.
