Sam's Birthday Party

So, Easter was a little bumpy!! My son decided to have a melt down, when he saw all the kids playing with his toys. Now, we are getting ready for his 3rd birthday party. We have decided to have it at a playground again. The theme will be a PJ Mask party. For those that don’t know, this is Disney’s new super hero cartoon. I’m not a fan of the show, but he loves it. I even bought him a Catboy suit for the party. The crazy thing is a week after he decided to have a PJ Mask party, we watched the trailer to the new Spiderman movie. He loves Spiderman now. Why oh Why did I not introduce him to Spidey sooner. We could have been having a web party. You see all these dad’s dressing up as super hero’s with their son’s and that’s what i wanted!!! Now, this dad will be a PJ Mask. I’m really excited either way. We got masks and capes for all of his friends to run around on the playground with. I will post a picture soon of all the mini super heroes protecting the playground.

Study Tips

Studying can be difficult in college. In each class, different methods are used to take notes, and as well to study them. Here are a few tips on finding your perfect way to ace every test!

1. Know your learning style. If you do best my visually seeing things, study that way. Or if flashcards work best for you, do that!

2. Make sure to plan enough time to really absorb the information. If you wait until the last minute, most likely you aren’t going to do well.

3. Find a good study spot! All colleges have great spots to study. If you like a loud area, or a quiet spot such as the library, your college will have ample room to get your work done in.

4. Study with a group! It helps you get notes you might’ve missed in class, and the opportunity to find new ways to study.

5. Always have a snack or something to drink with you. if you have this in front of you, you won’t be tempted to get distracted.

6. Make studying fun! Find new ways to make the information interesting and fun to learn.

The Last Few Weeks

As we come back from Easter break, the reality of only having three weeks of school left are really setting in. Study time is becoming a necessity, and sleep is not. Assignments are racking up and all college students are preparing to pull all nighters. Three weeks till freedom.

College 101

This blog is for ALL struggling students. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Here’s my tips on surviving my first year of college. 

1. DO NOT take 8am’s. You think you can take them, but you can’t. I can barely get up for my 10am.

2. Get used to eating Ramen Noodles. You MUST learn to like them, because trust me, food from your college caf won’t be good.

3. Chick-Fl-A will be your best friend. Eating it 4 or 5 times a week is totally normal.

4. Sleep> Grades. You MUST study, but I promise you afternoon naps are a necessity. 

5. Skipping a class every once in a while isn’t going to kill you, or your GPA.

6. Coffee will be your best friend. 

7. Pulling an all nighter to study for a test or to do homework is completely normal.

8. The Importance of 11:59.

9. BE SURE to make friends. They will be there for you when you’re crying at 2am because you’re failing more classes than your actually taking. 

10. HAVE FUN! The first year of college is definately stressful, but I promise it’s one of the best years of your life.
