Exact Match Domains

It's still somewhat ridiculous how strong exact match domains are. I set this blog up a few weeks ago, and now if you search for [madlib seo] it ranks #2.

I set up another site at the same time. The second site has a few more posts up, but not much content - it mostly contains links to posts on other blogs. Ostensibly, it's a review site for a branded program. This doesn't stop the domain, with really no actual reviews yet posted, from ranking #2 for the query.

Sure, I like that this is the case, but it's somewhat ridiculous.

PS - the reason this blog is named Madlib SEO is this fantastic post, and fantastic tactic, from Blue Hat SEO. This post ranks #1 for [madlib seo], as it should, forever. Read it and appreciate Eli's awesomeness.

Hey Google, you little trickster! You and your "organic" search results, had me thinking they were completely objective. Who knew you did SEO?

RetailMeNot IPO would bring up some interesting arguments, if Google didn't completely own the discussion through their outstanding (evil?) PR.
