catalinaperz:
Catalina paused when she heard a woman call out for her. Looking over at the top, her brow furrowed with mild recognition. “I think it may be my neighbours dog. He lives a few streets down but I’m not entirely sure.” She’d seen the dog once or twice from far away. “It may be the best thing to do to bring him to the clinic and I can mention it to them when I see them next.”
The news the dog had a home potentially was a relief, and she hoped that the dog had a chip at least. “That would be great, I’ll still scan him for a chip when I get there and if he doesn’t have one I’ll perhaps see if I can get them to chip him in future.” she admitted, “Where abouts do you live? I might know the owners, though he’s not a patient of mine, he might be one of Noahs.”

His eyebrows lifted as he scratched at the day or two growth of hair on his chin. “Pets yes,” he agreed. He’d actually been thinking about making a trip down to animal control. Living on his own was a lot lonelier than he’d imagined. “You know the last animal I was ever responsible for was a Siamese Fighting Fish. I was seven and it didn’t last long to say the least.”
"... Oh no do I wanna hear the story?” she asked, though she knew that fish were both great pets and sometimes the hardest animals to look after. She’d seen first hand some of the fish that came through and thought they were great for kids. “I think I’ve always had a pet, horses, cats, dogs, I can’t imagine not having one.”
sadie-rae-james:
Sadie stopped in her tracks and peered down at the dog, then at Maddy. Instantly, she thought about Caleb, and how badly he’d been wanting a dog. “Sorry, I don’t recognize him,” she said, reaching down to pet the friendly pup. Without thinking, she followed up by asking, “Will you call me if no one claims him? I’ll give you my number.”
She grinned up at Sadie as she nodded a little, “Yeah no problem. I’ll take him to the clinic and check for a chip. Are you interested in taking him in?” that kind of news always made Maddy’s day, if she could get the little guy rehomed before having to send him to the pound would be great. “We’d have to wait a few days to see if he gets claimed then if not, we work with animal control to get adoptions sorted.”
kenzie-davenport:
If there was one person in the world that Kenzie wanted to be like, it was her big sister Maddy. Kenzie had idolized her growing up and wished more than anything that she could be like her. Maddy was smart and beautiful and Kenzie was less than average in both those departments in her own mind. “It’s okay. I know you have a million people vying for your attention.” Kenzie smiled, looking up at the menu and then turning her attention to her sister. “Hazelnut latte and a chocolate croissant. Same as always. You know me, I’m a creature of habit.” Everything about Kenzie was predictable. She wished that just once she could surprise someone…and maybe that was part of why dating Tate Mitchum seemed so appealing. It was a surprise to herself that she was brave enough to pursue him, and surely a surprise to everyone else when they’d shown up to the belle ball together.
"No one more important than you though, Kenz.” the woman replied with a smile and made a note not to look at her phone for the rest of their time together. She always tried to make sure she was present for her time with her siblings, her phone often remaining off in her bag when she needed to see them. But, with a patient in critical care she wanted to at least have it near by should she have to go in. “Nothing wrong with predictable, and you aren’t predictable, I don’t think anyone could be truly.” she added, leaning her elbows on the table, “So, am I going to have to beat it out of you? How was the Ball?”

Coming into work early was not always something Noah did, but when he woke up and couldn’t fall back asleep, he know the only peace he would find was down at the clinic. He stepped into the clinic, the lights already on as he made his way to the back. Noah only guessed that Madeline had made it into work before him. Stepping into the recovery room, he paused at the door, a smile reaching across her lips. “A sweetheart, huh? I swear that’s the same position I was in when I decided I was goin’ to get a golden of my own.”
She grinned up at the other vet with a chuckle, “I love him.” she replied, the only creatures she’d ever said those words to were animals, and it probably wasn’t a coincidence. “But, I have my babies as well I think they’d be jealous if they had to share the attention more than they already do.” she admitted, scratching the dogs ears. “But, ... I do love goldens, I nearly got one myself but then my guys came into my life.” she admitted.
coachmitchum:
Tate had a history with Kenzie’s sisters. It wasn’t like he’d planned to fall for her, but he had and that meant dealing with her sisters. Particularly, Mads. As soon as he looked up and saw her, Tate froze. His gaze moved up to the sign hanging above her head, cursing himself for getting this close to the veterinary clinic. “Mad Dog,” he said, instantly slipping into the old nickname he’d used for her. It was obnoxiously common for him to use nicknames, even though he’d forced himself to stop calling Kenzie ‘Mack Daddy’ because she apparently hated it. “Long time no see.”
"So ,” she knew she wouldn’t be able to last long before mentioning it but she didn’t think that she would have brought it up this soon. But, that familiar nickname caused her to stiffen a little in response. “Yeah, though I see you’re still getting your fill of Davenport.” she replied finally, arching an eyebrow delicately. “I have cousins too if that’s who you’re going for next, maybe Luke though he doesn’t swing that way but hey...worth a try right? Or my Mom, I’m sure that will go down well.”

“Oh hi buddy who are you?” the woman crouched down to the dog that she had spotted walking alone down the middle of the road, having called him to the sidewalk so that he didn’t get squished. She reached for a collar or a tag and found none, before glancing up at the nearest person. “Excuse me, do you recognise this dog?” she asked, “If not I’ll take him back to the clinic and scan him for a microchip.”

This fucking bike. She’d been working on it for countless months now without avail. Just when she was certain she’d figure out what the problem was, things would go south. That’s exactly what happened when she decided to take it for a ride. Certain that she’d finally fixed the damn thing, the brunette had decided to push her luck by going a little further than she should have. Given that it had broken down by the side of the road, she hadn’t managed to push it further enough to return to her own shop. Lifting her head when she heard the sound of a car come down the road, Soph moved to the side and stuck her thumb out in the hope they’d slow down to help her.
She was on her way back from a call out, her eyes aching from the fact she’d been awake for a while but she was fighting through it. With a fair bit to go, she was surprised to see someone on the outskirts of town. Until she saw the bike and recognised the face. Pulling her truck to the side of the road, she offered the brunette a smile as she reached across to unlock the passenger door before killing the engine so she could get out and see if she could help. “Sophia.” she greeted with a smile, “Uh, reckon we could load it into the tray or you gonna need a tow?” she opened the back of the truck, seeing if it was possible to fit a motorbike in there.

“If I have to hear the Elmo song one more time,” he rubbed at his forehead, trying to relieve the headache that was building there., “I can’t tell you what I’m going to do to him.”
“...Yikes see this is why I prefer pets.” she admitted, “Kids are great but, yeah. I don’t know if I could handle that.”

“I’m just here for my fur niece.” Mads announced as soon as her younger brother opened the door, her dogs at her feet. Her german shepherd and australian shepherd mix, Belle, and her australian shepherd Rosie were her favourite people in the world. Better than people, they were just her favourite. Rosie was lost after her companion Roscoe died, and so when a pregnant shepherd had come into the clinic she had been unable to resist the beautifully coloured Belle to add her to the family. “Play date?” she asked her brother hopefully, a wide grin on her lips.
