@maekl029
I have no explanation for this one. You just have to feel it
Do u do comms?
Sorry I missed this! Not at the moment since I'm too busy. I've been thinking about it more recently though so maybe sometime in the future?
And a sketch of Elster's back...trying to figure out what's goin on back there
A little sketch of Elster that I colored!
And a drawing of Lilith and Alina! I realized I haven't drawn these two yet
My Signalis secret santa gift for @plasterhound of her Tukans Twist and Turn!!
Some value comps!!
I recently saw your rendering job and it’s very beautiful! I just wanted to inquire as to how you learned? :>
Thank you!!
Hmm I’ve been painting for a while now so I’ve learned from a number of things over the years. But overall the most helpful was observational drawings/paintings from life! I did a bunch of charcoal and graphite still life drawings in high school which helped me develop a decent understanding of light and shadow. In college I think I was drawing/painting from life at least once a week?
There’s so much information online!! Proko’s YouTube channel has been an invaluable resource for me over the years. And I couldn’t post this without mentioning James Gurney’s blog and Color and Light book! He helps you understand what you’re seeing and why it’s happening.
There are so many amazing photo references online as well. I have a ton of photos saved on my computer for really specific things like rocks or reflective surfaces that I reference all the time. Pinterest has some cool stuff but people rarely bring up Flickr…very good source imo. Honestly good reference is everywhere. People posting vacation photos on social media, movie clips, travel videos on YouTube, etc.
So tldr is a lot of looking, studying, and trying to understand why things look the way they do!
I was thinking about Falke with her hair in a ponytail the other day...
Hiya would you ever sell prints? That last Elster piece is so lovely.
Thank you! Hmm I never thought about it. This was supposed to be a sketch account so I didn't really expect to make anything print-worthy haha. But if enough people are interested I might consider selling prints!
your art is so beautiful 🥺🥺 i think line ones are just as interesting, i hope you feel comfy posting whatever you want ❤️❤️
Waaa thank you!! And thanks for the reassurance :.) I made this side account so I could loosen up and draw whatever I wanted to without worrying how it would be received. I guess I was starting to forget that 🥲
Keep up the good work
🦾
Thank you!!
Here's a sketch of Elster based on that emoji because why not
Also trying to paint that last drawing
