hi i'm a filipino who recently moved out of the ph to a first world country and never learned tagalog while i lived there (because privilege) but i've been trying to learn for years. i made this blog because i started feeling really lonely being the only filipino in the room and my family members making fun of me and i needed a place to practice writing where people could give me some feedback. if i make a mistake with anything feel free to send me corrections since i know that to improve i have to be bad first.

Can't forget how this movie was actually THAT MOVIE of my generation. Everybody, queer or not, was referencing this movie. It's a kind of queer coming-of-age that ANYBODY can watch and relate to. It's light hearted, yet tackles the heavy issues of urban poor Manila, homophobia, and sexism (because bruh, his brothers and father may have accepted him as gay, but with mysogyny involved, so...welp. But it was a delicate matter addressed well.)

Still, he was 12. He was blossoming. It was still of product of its time, but way ahead, considering.

sharing this because i think it is incredibly important that us as filipinos support palestine. i am a first generation immigrant (against my will, my parents made the decision and i couldn't argue) and when i remember the circumstances that forced me to leave my friends and family, i feel incredibly sick. i cannot imagine how devastating it is for people who are forced out because of genocide and to know that you are safe while your people are suffering. the sameer project is doing incredible work helping people in gaza with medical aid, shelter, water, and food. with netanyahu's plan to fully invade gaza, i urge you to donate to them through their linktree and do your part to help free palestine in whatever way you can, whether it's protests, educating people, aiding protestors, or anything else.
