One of the most annoying parts about moving around so much when you're little is losing any sort of cultural ties you have to anywhere, never sharing connections with the kids & people (like everyone's in on an inside joke you'll never get, and you'll never sound like anyone from anywhere), and by proxy never developing ties to home. It just Is.
