Aspen needed something to help her clear her mind, even if that was to take some time off of work and end up picking up a few books to leave her life and end up in a fantasy one for a little bit. Of course, she should have went to the library instead of going to What the Book? Where someone she was avoiding actually worked there. Thankfully she chose the right time where she didn’t run into them. When hearing a voice, Aspen turned her head to look at the blonde. “The best joke I have is my life,” she said – almost in a joking tone. “I don’t think there are many guys who have a good sense of humor anymore. It’s rare if anything,” Aspen muttered to herself while picking a book off the shelf for her to glance over.
Maggie listened carefully at the woman’s words. She felt a little bad that she said those things about her own life. After having a close run with death, losing her parents in the crash and moving in with her aunt Florence and her cousins, Maggie found a new sense or meaning to life. She was grateful for her second chance and knew she would never underestimate anything ever again. Still, she completely knew what the woman meant. Sometimes you just had bad things happen to you and feel as if you’re being punked. “I’m sorry you feel that way... I mean, it’s understandable to feel that way if you’re having a rough time.” she said and then nodded at the woman’s final words. “Yeah, those were the men from the old days. Respectful, funny and charming. Wish I could cross paths with one them... it’s unlikely though...”
