"Weeeeell, I've been trying to brainstorm the perfect prank to pull on someone but it still needs tweaking. But, I actually haven't got the chance to do the Blossom Dance.." Or well, he hasn't gotten to enjoy it. It's kinda lonely dancing by yourself, especially when everyone's having a great time with friends and family. Makes him feel out of place.. Unless..
".. Soooo, you.. Wanna dance? It'll be fun! Don't worry, I won't do anything crazy like throw you up into the air! Promise!" Pit said, or well, practically begged with how his eyes glitter at his rabbit friend.
Besides, he hasn't gotten to hang with Cucumber for a while! The last time they.met during a festival was.. Anyway, it's a good time to actually hang out without something crazy happening!
٠ ࣪⭑ Cucumber tilts his head a little at the mention of a prank. He didn't strike Pit as the type, but honestly, the kid could get into plenty of trouble without going out of his way to do it. All Cucumber did was smile and shake his head, a warm chuckle bubbling in his throat.
His eyes widened a little, however, at the mention of the dance. Come to think of it, Cucumber hadn't really gone to that before either. It's not like he'd ever been invited to one before, either. He blinked a little, a soft smile slowly spreading on his cheeks.
" Uh... s-sure! I um... I don't see why not. " He accepts with a nod and a soft laugh. " I-It would be fun to dance, I think. I've um... never danced before though. " He admits, his cheeks flushing and eyes looking down and away from Pit. " S-so I apologize if I'm kind of a clutz. "
☀️-- "Woah, woah! Hey now, I don't think this little guy is who you kids are looking for." The voice came from overhead and Clark was quick to pick the apparent child with the rabbit ears up under the arms, lifting him away from the chaos. Safe to say that an adult coming over seemed to dilute things a bit even though the younger ones were all talking at the same time, trying to say that he'd just picked up the Easter Bunny and the bunny wasn't giving them eggs or candy. Clark knew that it wouldn't really do anything to try and explain to kids this young. So... he improvised. Looking up mid-sentence, he caught their attention and said that he saw a bunny go off into the bushes just across the way.
It wasn't exactly the way he'd wanted to go about it, but it was the quickest and the easiest. He'd been on a job when he'd noticed the chaos, veering off path to help the kid who was being harassed.
Carefully he set the boy down and took a knee, looking him over. "You okay there, buddy?"
٠ ࣪⭑ Cucumber gasped as he heard the voice of a grown-up, his savior, his friend! Not that he expected to be quite literally scooped up off his feet. It was a little bit humiliating being picked up and set down like a toy, but considering it was out of reach of the grabby hands, Cucumber wasn't complaining.
Much to his relief, the grown-up seemed to convince the kids to flee, and they all ran off. He exhales deeply, brushing off his sweater and fixing himself while the man spoke. This adult was... tall. Very tall. But the way he bent down on his knee to talk to him brought Cucumber a soft rush of relief.
" Y-yeah! Yeah, I'm okay. Thanks to you. " He chuckled a little, reaching up to gently brush his ears and wincing as a sharp pain reminded him of the troublemakers. " You really saved me from those kids. I-I'm sorry to cause you any trouble. "
Tethu sighed as he sits down on a bench. He thought to maybe mapping out the island in his head, but it's bigger than he thought. He doesn't even know if he even went over a quarter of the Isles. He had to take a break, holding the nightlight close as he looks at the nearby frozen lake. His mind wanders while his finger traces around the small bundle of warmth that gave him energy. His Oasis..
How are they doing? Shakuro must be so worried. Miura could be looking for him right now. Are they okay? He can't help worrying, especially because of his unlucky track record.. The Oasis always ended up in danger when he leaves for a bit.
He's suddenly snapped from his thoughts when he sees someone approach. The appearance shocked him a bit, almost thinking it was a Lagora. But, it wasn't. Similar, but no. A leapard? No no. "Uh.. Hi there." He said, unable to hide his curious expression while he looked at the stranger's ears. They're long like a Lagora's.
"I.. I'm still trying to map out the area. My name's Tethu. What's your name?"
٠ ࣪⭑ Cucumber often tried to make it a habit of finding other folks who might be newer to the area. It was easy for anyone to get overwhelmed in a place like this. ( especially him, he was overwhelmed. ) So, when he noticed someone who didn't seem aerconi and also a bit lost, he made it his mission to greet them.
Besides that, it was always good to have more friends. This kid didn't seem to be too much older than himself anyway. A nice and easy friendship!
" Uh, hi! " He greeted warmly, quickly noticing the way the stranger looked at him. At this point, Cucumber was plenty used to the way people stared at his ears. It was almost funny, but he paid no mind.
" M-my name's Cucumber. It's nice to meet you, Tethu. " Cucumber nods, offering his hand to shake. Only for it to occur to him that handshakes might not be normal and to quickly take his hand back. ( Play it cool, he can't look like a dork already. That's what Almond would tell him. )
" What... do you mean, map out the area? " Cucumber tilts his head, curiously. " You... you could always get a map. Or uh... use your phone. " He paused. " D-do you know how to use your phone? I can uh... show you if you want. "
Fanalea was busier than he'd thought! There's so much to do like look for coins and the strawberry harvest along with the dance and snacks! Pit was going to look for a coin but got distracted by strawberries and picked a few to eat. He then started hearing people (mostly kids) talk about how the Wyrd Fae has come to give them coins or candy. He was curious...
Until he saw who they were talking about. Pit stifles a giggle as he gets up and walks over to his bunny friend. Aww, they think he's an Easter Bunny or something! He doesn't remember the name but they think he's that! Oh, but he should help him out. "Wait, I saw it! It's right over there!" He shouted as he points to another direction, watching the small children run off with excitement.
"Cucumber, this festival rocks!!" Pit couldn't contain his joy, hugging his friend with a spin. "You won't believe how many people I pranked! Oh, but I still gotta get him, you know? Biggest prankster ever, so it's a real tough mission!" He laughs, wings fluttering. "Also there's throwing paint at eachother?? And Food?? Dancing??? Aevum sure knows how to throw a festival! Did you see the Temple, they're making these super magical and amazing tapestries! I helped in some, kinda!"
٠ ࣪⭑ It was always a challenge this time of year for him. Not for any other reason than the locals tended to harass him a little bit more than normal. Of course, it was just the little kids who wanted to play with him. He was more than used to this when Almond was younger. But it didn't matter how often he explained, they thought he was a Wyrd Fae!
Cucumber was just at his breaking point when Pit swooped in to save him. With a deep sigh, he relaxes his shoulders. He offered Pit a relieving smile for the assist.
" Phew! Thanks, Pit- " Before he can finish, he's scooped up in a big hug and spun around. Cucumber really shouldn't have been so surprised. Pit was always like this when he was excited. Not that he minded too much. Pit's hugs were better than the little kids who kept pulling his ears.
" W-woah! " Cucumber chuckles a little at Pit's enthusiasm, his own head dizzy from the spin. " Y-yeah, there's a... a lot of cool things to do. Whew. " Cucumber smiles, catching his breath briefly. " I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, Pit. Is uh, there anything you haven't done yet? M-maybe we could do it together? "
٠ ࣪⭑ Cucumber stood at the window display of Sweets and Eat's Candy store. He had just been on the way to the little bookstore for a new notebook when the window caught his attention. In dozens upon dozens of rows were chocolate confections... all shaped like rabbits.
There was something about the way they looked... the proportions of the face... it made his stomach wrap in knots at the horrible sight. He knew humans ate gingerbread people, but this? This was a whole new level of weird.
" . . . " He gulped. " I-I don't... know if I should be s-scared or not. "
٠ ࣪⭑ " W-why won't these kids leave me alone!? " He had been chased by small hordes of children all day through the parks and streets. They acted as though they knew who he was and that he owed them something. ( Eggs? Why would he have EGGS??? )
" Ow- ow! P-please don't pull those! " He whimpered, one kid having grabbed his ears and yanked back. All he could do was try to create distance between himself and the little beasts.
" Someone help!! " He screamed, running through the park searching for anywhere he could get away. Whoever this Easter Bunny was that they were looking for, he felt terrible for them. This was a nightmare.
٠ ࣪⭑ It's time to get on it fellas! Like, for a starter from Cuco! No Cap gonna bounce between Amity Celebration and normal stuff (if you have a preference, comment!) <3
For Amity though, Cuco can be found doing any of the following:
THE AMITY CELEBRATION is itself a celebration of families in Aevum, from mothers, to fathers, and siblings alike. Some may even gather to celebrate friendships during this season of holiday. Cafes, restaurants and stores across Arcanus City can be found discounting items and featuring seasonal sales. City parks can often be found themed in whites and golds, with various family-friendly activities across the small venues. Please refer to the ARCANUS ISLE COMPENDIUM for creature and plant references.
OVERVIEW:
Logus Pocus Day.
During the month of APRIL, the Aercons of Arcanus Isle celebrate the coming of spring. Starting first with “LOGUS POCUS DAY”, residents make sure to engage in a full day of mischief and good-natured fun. After which, the preparations for spring are sure to follow.
(see: Logus Pocus Day, cont.)
The Blossom Dance.
Taking place on the FIRST FRIDAY AND SATURDAY of April (2025, April 4th-5th), the Blossom Dance is a large gathering hosted by Fanalean residents in the Fanalean Fields. Participants and onlookers are expected to wear their springtime finest and join locals through the weekend for locally-made foods such as the May Flower Honey and Zephyr Lily Wines. The farmlands host strawberry harvests, and during the White Nights, Star-Step Moonelopes and Sunbeam Ceredae are more common to spot in the wilds around this time of year.
Towards the far west of the fields, along the border of the Aether Reserve, Wyrd Fae leave small gold coins for curious children. Legends say that only those pure of heart can find the coins, though they can be gifted to others once in the individual's possession.
Taking significant others to the Blossom Dance is a popular date choice, especially during the White Nights.
The White Nights.
During the 28th of April to the 3rd of May, Aevum experiences a natural week-long phenomenon colloquially known as “THE WHITE NIGHTS”. During this time, the sun does not set, casting a perpetual twilight well into the midnight hours. Schools are closed and workplaces observe reduced hours. The White Nights are a signifier that spring has come, and is often reserved as a holiday for families to enjoy.
NOTE:
Known as THE AMITY VOUCHER, LIMIT: 1 PER CHARACTER.
For the month of April: the Aevum Marketplace will allow TIER 1 MARKETPLACE ITEMS to be discounted to 50% off its market price.
Tier 1 items can be BOUGHT AND GIFTED to other members for the duration of the month.
Purchases will be processed during April. 27th-May 3rd.
ACTIVITIES:
NOTE: Unless specified, ALL activities listed for the Amity Celebration are observed throughout the Arcanus Isles.
May Crownings
May Crownings are a small rite of passage between young people within Arcanus Isle. Youth will spend some time crafting flower crowns and garlands for their best friends. The flowers of choice, despite the name, are daisies, bluebells, and marigolds. Some eleven attempt to weave heaven’s mirror into their garlands for their crushes. Receiving a crown often is synonymous with “you are important to me”.
Adults who like to continue the tradition may instead weave wreaths to hang for their loved ones. The more colorful flowers that fill the wreath (as well as the size and volume of the wreath), the more of a point of pride it is between friends.
Occasionally, some choose to utilize the may crownings to deliver crowns, garlands, and wreaths that speak of not-so-pleasant feelings towards other individuals. It is not entirely uncommon for anonymous wreaths to be left at a doorstep that say, in no uncertain flower-speak terms, “I don't like you even one bit”.
Logus Pocus Day (cont.)
Logus Pocus Day marks the first day of the Amity Celebration season for many arcanus residents. Fishermen gather the logus fruit from the small islands scattered around the southern perimeter, and sell them at the piers throughout the day. Logus fruit is known for its playfully chaotic characteristics, and many residents who partake in the holiday craft all manner of pranks featuring the fruit.
Eating the fruit produces a random effect that lasts 1 hour per bite taken. There are six cataloged effects:
Your voice changes to sound operatic, higher or lower pitched, or, in rare cases, speaking backwards.
Randomly change the color of your skin, eyes, and/or hair with wildly different shades that slowly peels off.
Particles appear coming off your body, which take the form of flower petals. The petals are unique to the person.
Your body becomes elastic, making you unbreakable … However you will be unable to grip anything at all.
The gravity of your body changes, making you incredibly dense, or float.
You turn into a Luna Flock. (No, you cannot lay eggs.)
CLEARVIEW DISTRICT:
Tea-lip Party
In the spirit of good fun, the Tea-Lip Party is hosted in Nourriture Avenue’s Gazebo. Teacups made of tulips line round tables for an afternoon tea party. Tea is served to guests who partake, all with the knowledge that drinking from the cup may mean a variety of random effects — for the tea poured into each cup is spiked with various alchemical potions courtesy of JUNIPER’S CHARMS AND REMEDIES.
This year, when ingested, the following effects may occur:
Your body progressively starts to glow any singular color of the rainbow. This lasts 24 hours.
You feel your tongue begin to twist. You can only speak in rhyme for 4 hours.
Your dominant hand is switched from right to left, or left to right. If you are ambidextrous, you now have no dominant hand. This lasts 2 hours.
You cannot tell a lie for 24 hours.
You will be followed by a little cloud of personalized weather, good or bad, usually taking the form of a small cloud. This lasts 6 hours.
All of your inner thoughts are audibly heard for 4 hours. You’re convinced everyone else is a mind reader.
(Felix often lost his cats and brewed this potion to make them easier to find.) You leave glowing footsteps that persist for 1 hour.
Your thirst is perfectly quenched for 2 hours. This drink is the quenchiest. (Also subjects the drinker to vivid hallucinations for the same amount of time.)
Many of the neighboring restaurants partake in the Tea-lip Party, offering various hour-de-vours to go alongside the precariously enjoyable beverages.
DOWNTOWN ARCANUS.
Coating Colors Day
Downtown Arcanus celebrates the Amity Festival with various color based festivities in celebration of the spring. One such tradition is to gather residents for a full day of color dusting the old roads of the main street. Residents engage in fun banter with each other by throwing small balloons with colored water and powder at each other.
Very often, this activity turns the streets into a colorful labyrinth. The elderly will partake by creating the colored powder solutions using various ancient methods and plants that grow across the Fanalean Fields and Silverbrook Hollow. The most famous of these colors are the pale blue, phosphorescent powders that come from the Zephyr Lilies, and the bright orange powder that comes from May Flowers.
As the Amity Celebration is traditionally a festival revolving around the bonds of friendship, family and neighborhood, this is an especially popular event for most Arcanus Isle residents to spend with their loved ones.
Luminescence Concerts
Sponsored by sweetheart idol Opal Luminescence, the Amphitheatre is fitted into a grand stage where the residents of Arcanus Isle can compete against one another to see who has the best, and most influential, musical talents. Those who partake can perform covers of their favorite songs, write and perform entirely original ones, or even simply join in as part of the judge table.
Despite the competitive nature of the concerts, the end goal of the performances are to promote creativity, artistry, music, and having fun. Opal often mediates the shows, congratulating all participants and rewarding them with various small gifts of their choice. (Usually musical in nature.) The pop star meets and greets her fans, often ending the week with a large concert showcasing the most popular covers and original music voted on throughout the week, as well as her own songs.
A majority of the proceeds gained by merchandise sales, sponsorships and so on are given to the St. Azalea Foundation.
THE AETHER RESERVE.
Tapestry of Traditions (April 28 - May 3rd)
As the White Nights finally make their appearance, the residents of Arcanus Isles turn their attention from the coming of spring, to the celebration of families properly. At the Padedeu Temple, groups of acolytes gather to create tapestries for paying residents as part of a fundraising event.
These tapestries are created from spun wool and silks - called Sovenance Threads - with both versions hailing from a long-lost region. The threads are used to create an image of an individual’s home (metaphorical or otherwise), and often depicts important subjects and people in their life. Sovenance threads draw on the memories and true feelings of an individual’s heart to create these depictions. One or more people can contribute to a tapestry to create the finished product, and they can be extended once a year.
These tapestries are some Aercons way of preserving family traditions, mottos, and other elements of livelihood, and often serve as heirlooms to be passed down and continued from one generation to the next.
A Sovenance Tapestry can depict (and be influenced by) the following things:
An individual’s family. The definition of a “family” will always reflect the Echo’s definition of what a ‘family’ may be. This can include biological families, found families, friendships, work-family, neighborhood communities, pets, and so on. People of significance may also appear here, but never wholly negative individuals, such as a mortal enemy or a deeply personal rival. (These individuals may be hinted at by motifs instead. See below.)
Memories, Emotions and Unique Relationships Due to the nature of the event, acolytes will ask Echoes to focus on a happy memory for the threads to depict. These positive memories will take precedence over negative ones. However: neutral and negative emotions can still influence the tapestry if the emotion (or lack thereof) is strong enough. Neutral (or lack of) emotions or memories will contribute nothing to the tapestry being created by the acolyte, causing the Sovenance threads to simply halt in place. If a negative emotion or memory influences the tapestry, the effect is more varied, creating anything from a wholly unclear or distorted image, to an image that simply contains small symbols that relate back to any unfinished business, hidden afflictions, or unresolved conflicts. In the case of both positive and negative influences, the tapestry’s symbols and motifs act very similarly to dream symbolism. (e.g., a backdrop of poison ivy may indicate hostile attitudes or scheming thoughts; jealousy, anger, and revenge. A lit candle may symbolize seeking hope, comfort or enlightenment.)
A birthplace or other Significant Location. A tapestry’s backdrop may depict elements of an Echo’s home, favorite place, or other objects that relate back to this location. (e.g., a star motif for characters related to, or greatly influenced by, space. Or an artistic rendition of a significant landmark that is important to the Echo.)
(More on) Influential Objects, Symbols, and Motifs Throughout the entire tapestry, symbols, objects, and motifs that tie in to the Echo will appear scattered throughout the piece. These typically depict elements of the Echo’s personality (or personalities, if more than one Echo is contributing to the tapestry). What motifs appear are directly influenced by the memory or relationship being depicted on the tapestry being woven. People who influence the memory of the Echo who are not directly involved (or are a deeply negative experience) will appear as symbols and motifs (see above) throughout the tapestry rather than as a significant focal point of it.
THE LUNAR COAST.
Candlelight Passing
Also spearheaded by the Padedeu Temple staff is the Candelight Passing ceremony. This ceremony takes place from 7PM - 4AM during the White Nights. When the Midnight Sun basks the land of Arcanus Isle into a perpetual twilight, denizens of the Isle gather at the shores of Arcus Reef to send off small wooden boats (often letter-sized boxes) filled with offerings to loved ones who have passed on.
These wooden boats are specifically fitted to eventually sink underwater, as the Aercons believe that when a member of the community passes on to become one with the Aether, the moment that the boats sink and its contents make contact with the water, the deceased are briefly able to feel the love of their remaining friends and relatives.
Those who observe the ceremony may gather incense, flowers, small sculptures, or paper memories into their boat before sending it off into the cove.
٠ ࣪⭑ Everything was escalating into a massive Nightmare. Machines were on every corner, shooting lasers and blaring alarms. Whoever this Collector was, it was clear to Cucumber that he was someone they needed to be careful of. Even with his best efforts, he was caught by the machines.
-----
Inside the Elytra Wing, Cucumber lay in the Starting Point. At first unconscious, the lingering effects of the sedative were still flowing through his veins. He groans a little as he gets up from the ground, rubbing the sore injection site.
He realized quickly that he wasn't in the Hyaline Wing, where the cells were typically located. Instead, he was in what looked like a massive hall with ledges and blocks. His heart began to race in his chest, his hands trembling in fear and panic setting in.
A hero shouldn't feel this scared. They shouldn't get caught and put in danger. They're supposed to be the ones who are rescuing. What kind of hero shakes like he does?
٠ ࣪⭑ It took some time for Cucumber to get his bearings in the massive facility. However, he always remembered that for every problem that existed, there was a solution to be found. While his friends were in danger, he would find a solution no matter what.
After some investigating, he realized that all of the Echoes were being kept in a place called the Hyaline Wing. He managed to remain in hiding while he copied a key from one of the scientists before booking it to the cells.
He walked quietly and slowly, using the blanket to cover himself from the surveillance cameras. Pretty much every cell was empty (with some even having some damage inside), but it wasn't long before he found a familiar face.
" R-Rue!? I-I mean! Uh... K-Kraehe? " Cucumber choked on his words. " S-sorry! I... I wasn't expecting to see you. " He walked to the barrier, using the blanket to hide himself while Rue could see him perfectly. Ears kept focused on her. " Are... are you okay? Do you need help? "
Escaping through the small door where food was given was pretty easy! Being small and petite certainly has its perks! Unfortunately, though, it seems she can't rely on anything else but her senses. She's, in a way, helpless in defending herself.
Hiding and sneaking by is the best method for her.
"Lilith...Where are you?" She asks herself in a hushed whisper. To think she always relied on her powers and other senses to locate the princess....
٠ ࣪⭑ This whole place was so confusing. Cucumber scurried down one corridor to another, hiding behind as much cover as possible. Occasionally, he stopped to try to slap his wand into action. None of the spells he tried to cast were working, and he was starting to get desperate.
He just needed to find someone and get the lay of the situation. Back in Arcanus, he had been told what happened and given equipment to help. But he's pretty sure even the East Tower folks... had no idea what this danger really was.
Just as hope was about to be lost, he spotted her.
" T-Tae? Tae! " Cucumber whisper called, waving his star wand from behind his hiding spot in the Tergite Wing. He hoped he could get her attention without drawing the attention of the surveying machines.
" A-are you okay?! D-do you know who else is here? Oh gosh, I'm so glad I found you. " His breath shook from his racing heart, voice trembling softly.
Once a threat shrouded by shadow is now ready for the world to know its name. Throughout the evening, something dangerous sweeps across Arcanus. Buzzing and mechanical clicks stir the silence of the night. What is precious is taken, what remains must rise to the challenge.
A Signal Calls From Ocellus Isle.

CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW.
All across Arcanus Isle, residents wake up to discover that Echoes have disappeared from their homes without a trace. The reasoning and methods of the abductions unknown, until the perpetrator reveals himself. Across screens everywhere he speaks, issuing a challenge to the Echoes that remain; come and get them.
While those left on Arcanus must prepare for a rescue, those who have been kidnapped begin to wake up. Trapped in a high tech facility, the Echoes must work together to escape with no abilities. The stakes are high, but their efforts will lead to the unveiling of a brand new threat to Aevum Isles.
For this campaign, you may choose to begin with Questline A or Questline B. Information regarding each is below:
QUESTLINE A.
Escape from your prison and gather your whereabouts.
The Echoes wake up in a cell, their abilities suppressed and their weapons taken away. They must escape their prison and work together to discover where they are and how they might escape. They will face dangers and obstacles along the way. Their location: Instar Laboratories.
SIDE-QUESTS:
Investigate Instar Laboratories.
This vast and highly advanced facilities posses countless secrets behind these streamlined walls. Why have the Echoes been taken? How do they escape? Who is responsible for all of this?
Recover Lost Weapons & Possessions.
Every item and weapon the Echoes possessed has been stolen and locked away in an unknown location. They will have to explore the facility undetected to discover where their possessions have been taken.
Endure the Tests of the Facility.
At nearly every corner is a mechanical threat that stands between the Echoes and freedom. However, the deeper into the facility, the more it seems as though there is someone watching their every move; perhaps for research, for science.
How Did Echoes Get to Instar Labs?
When the Echoes first wake up, they are contained to a fully encased, smooth, white room. One wall has been replaced with a blue, electrical shield that allows the prisoner to see into the hallway lined with cells similar to their own. Their powers are suppressed by mysterious means, and their possessions and weapons taken from them. Their clothes have been replaced with a plain white jumper, printed with their name and a block of scannable code.
The memories of the Echoes are blurry when they first wake up. All they remember was going to bed that night, and then waking up in a prison cell; the lingering affects of a suppressant in their veins.
How Do Echoes Escape The Cell?
Inside each of the cells is a bed, a toilet and sink, a panel table, a chair, and black dome on the ceiling that if watched closely, moves slowly on it's own. Every few hours, a machine with "Haulertron" written on the side delivers food, and occasionally scientists walk past while they conduct their business and ignore the Echoes. Attempting to touch the electric wall will send sharp, painful shocks across the body and prevent anyone from passing through.
Machines are unable to pass through these barriers without being destroyed themselves. Their bodies are able to pass through, however, the electricity of the wall collides with their power sources and creates fluctuations in the wall.
To escape, Echoes may:
Utilize the window where the Haulertron delivers food. The Haulertrons can open a small window in the barrier that is safe for them to pass through, like a doggy door.
Remove the camera from the ceiling, which, upon investigation reveals it is a machine called an "Eye Light". Placing it against the barrier will disrupt the electricity, although it will still hurt somewhat to pass through.
Those who possess a knack for the theatric may pretend to be in distress and summon a human guard to their cell, collecting a keycard to escape. The bed and chair are the only two objects that can be moved, and may have pieces that come apart.
If another Echo escapes their cell, they may press the release button on the outside of the cell to drop the shields for others. Echoes are able to communicate with one another through the shields, though perception is limited to those around each other.
Once the Echoes are out of the cell, they are free to explore the facility. However, do not mistake this for a leisurely stroll.
Even though the Echoes are no longer caged, there will still be scientists and machines roaming every hall and every room. Although the facility has not seemed to noticed the lack of containment, any machine or scientist that see's an Echo has escaped will immediately attempt to capture them. The codes printed on the jumpers is automatically scanned by the machines, allowing them to identify each Echo and adapt to counter them.
What Do Echoes Do?
Despite the Echoes having escaped, they will still need to find their stolen belongings and a way off of the Isle. There are several paths and locations that may be explored. Depending on the facilities that Echoes choose to explore. These may be mixed and matched or not touched at all.
Below are some suggestions that are not required but may be good starting points.
Discover the AROLIUM Wing is where the Echoes possessions have been taken. Break in and retrieve their items without detection or avoiding capture.
Enter the ELYTRA Wing and face a series of increasingly difficult tests that explore an Echoes physical strengths and weaknesses. They may prove their capabilities, or they will be captured once more and their data recorded.
Explore the PALPUS Wing, discovering plans, maps, and secrets behind the machines, including exploitable flaws. Over take the Control Tower and discover what is suppressing the Echoes powers.
Sabotage the TERGITE Wing and ruin production for weeks if not months. Or perhaps explore the Recycler Room and the connected sewer system under the facility.
Be taken in for physical experiments in the DORSUM Wing, and discover the volatile heart of the whole production. Escape with samples taken or be rescued by other Echoes in the nick of time.
Scope out the LITTORAL Wing and the vessels that come in and out of the cargo bay. Watch for the routines of the guards or investigate one of the crafts more closely.
NOTE: For a bird's eye view of the labs and where each wing is located, please see the Instar Labs Map Post or the Ocellus Isle Map Page!
Regardless of the path, the captured Echoes must band together in different teams across the facility, learning and sharing new pieces of information with each other as they attempt to create an escape plan.
However, as the Echoes become more aware of their surroundings, the facilities appears to be closing in around them. Every machine increasing in capabilities and every exit point growing further out of reach. The facility itself adapting to the Echoes to keep them here.
(for more information, please see the FAQ at the bottom of the event post.)
QUESTLINE B.
Break into Instar Laboratories and rescue the captured.
The Echoes left behind on Arcanus Isle are tasked with accepting the challenge posed to them by the mysterious entity. With the AIPD and ETC, they must venture to new isle. Sneaking their way inside and locate the kidnapped Echoes, the rescue team must help them escape while facing unique dangers in the surroundings.
SIDE-QUESTS:
Travel to and Explore the Ocellus Isle.
With help from the AIPD and ETC, the new isle is within your reach. Specialized tools and transportation are provided to brave the isle, however, the landscape may prove to be far more dangerous than anticipated.
Break into Instar Laboratories.
Instar Laboratories has numerous defenses both inside and outside its steel walls. Mechanical threats swarm the skies, watching for those who may attempt to breech the walls. Stealth and cleverness will be the keys to entering this facility without becoming prisoners in the process.
Navigate the Facility and Avoid Capture.
Once inside, the Echoes will have to continue their rescue mission, facing the same threats and the same tests as their kidnapped allies. Should the rescuers want to succeed, they will have to ensure their own presence isn't compromised and endure the ever adapting facility.
Discover the identity of the CEO of Instar Laboratories...

How Do Echoes Get to Ocellus Isle?
The morning after the Echoes are kidnapped, every screen, television, and radio all begin to erupt into static. A symbol of cogs and an anvil appears. Soon the static fades and a silhouette of a man emerges behind the blue lights of TV screens. All Arcanus Residents are given the following message:
Greeting Arcanus.
I come bearing a message for your Echoes.
While you slept, I have taken the liberty of acquiring the finest among you to join my collection. I understand this is sudden and, perhaps, disturbing.
However, I propose an invitation to those of you who remain.
By now, your subpar tech giants have tracked the location of my signal granting you a lead on where the Echoes have gone.
This is a generosity on my part. I advise that you act upon it.
Come and get them back.
The AIPD and ETC have sent out a call to action: the signal of the message is located in a mysterious new isle, only known as Ocellus Isle. Barely any information exists about this place as few have ever explored it, but the taken Echoes need yout help.
The AIPD and ETC have begun preparations in earnest. Airships are prepared to set sail across the skies. The ETC informs those who have accepted the call that these enemies appear to have advanced technology. They have attempted to reach out communications but all signals have been blocked. The only thing they have are coordinates of where the first signal came from.
How Can Echoes Prepare?
The ETC has the Echoes covered once again. Due to the sensitive nature of this mission, the ETC is providing Echoes with specialized equipment that they may use for the rescue mission. These items will be returned to the ETC after the rescue has been completed.
The Echoes may choose as few or as many from the following list:
Ear Pieces: These are small, sleek devices that fit inside of the ear, allowing for communication over long distances. Because the facility has signal scramblers, the ear pieces have been enhanced with the Tether Runes to work inside the facility. Sentences can be any length, however, only two earpieces can be connected to each other instead of everyone.
Mic Device: A watch style device that has a built in microphone to record surroundings, and is capable of video recording for clips up to 30 seconds.
Laser Pen: What looks like an ordinary pen is actually a laser (woah!). You have to unscrew the cap and then click the pen portion to activate it. This laser can cut through up to 3 inches of metal for 10 seconds until it needs to recharge.
Multi-Sight Goggles: Specialized goggles that provide night vision, infrared vision, or magnifying vision depending on the settings selected.
Grappling Hook: A sleek, hand held gun device. The hook can be fitted with magnets to attach firmly to metal walls. The wire is strong enough to hold any weight, and may be climbed with or used to pull objects up or down.
Taze Disks: Small, throwable disks that attaches to skin and electrifies the receiver. This will cause the receiver to fall unconscious with a strong electric pulse and the disk falls off after one use.
Plate Barrier: A harness that when powered up is able to create a protective forcefield around the body. It is automatically triggered by an on coming attack and the shield lasts for 1 minute. After the time has passed, it takes 5 minutes to recharge.
Gravity Boots: These shoes are designed to allow those who wear it to walk on walls for up to 5 minutes at a time. The shoes are able to connect to any surface and vertically climb it.
Scramble Key: A sleek, clear card that is able to scan a real keys and make an identical copy of it. The scan must be uninterrupted for 30 seconds to make the perfect copy. These keys may also be reset and copy new keys but will not save the old copies.
Invisa-Blanket: A large blanket with high tech, reflective paneling that is able to hide whatever is underneath it by matching the surroundings. This only hides from visual scanners.
Bead Breaker: A case of 6 marble shaped devices that magnetically attach to metal surfaces. Once placed, it will begin to beep and glow. After 5 seconds, the bead explodes creating significant damage to whatever is around it.
Filter Mask: A face shield covering that not only hides facial features from recognition technology, but that are capable of diffusing chemicals from the air to breath in safely.
Tool Belt: A somewhat common device, however it will perfectly fit all of the gadgets you may choose and include additional tools such as: pocket knife, flashlight, and some smoke screens for a distraction.
Before you arrive, all rescue team Echoes are given a Flare Signal. Once an Echo has reached the outside perimeter Ocellus Isle, they must shoot off the signal. This will summon the airships to pick you up and return you back to Arcanus.
How Do Echoes Break Into the Lab?
Once in the vicinity of Ocellus Isle, the Echoes will be informed through the AIPD of ways they may be able to get into the lab. Once they pass the radio towers contact will be lost. It will be up to the Echoes to secure their way out once they enter. The Airships will remain on standby, waiting for a signal flare to alert them.
The Echoes will be able to survey the perimeter of the isle while on undetectable floating rafts, noticing the radio towers that stand on the surrounding small islands around the massive Laboratory in the center of it all.
As the Echoes get closer, the air around them hums with electrical currents, growing heavier with smoke that burns the lungs. The waters under them shift from beautiful blues to blackened shades layered with oil. The area seems totally destroyed, eradicated by the sheer amount of chemical waste from the laboratory. Despite the disgusting exterior, the Echoes must press on. Inside that lab is where the Echoes must be.
Note: As soon as Echoes pass through the barrier created by the Radio Towers, they will find their power and abilities are suppressed.
FINDING A WEAK SPOT.
Echoes may choose to observe the facility via the surrounding Islands, landing their small crafts on the shore lines. On the outer islands, they may encounter creatures such as the Ionips and find Gamma Flowers growing in the soil among the decay and garbage that persists everywhere.
On each of the outer islands are massive Radio Towers, with bright blue lights at the very top. Each tower may be more thoroughly investigated by the Echoes while they avoid detection from the machines flying in the air.
FROM THE WALLS.
On the north side of the main lab is a beach where Echoes may also land. Exploring from the ground will reveal the numerous outdoor walkways that lead to emergency exits leading inside. The rails are grimy and sticky but still climbable. All of the buildings except for the IMAGO Wing have entrances like these on the outside of them.
While on the outside, you will have to avoid the watchful Optic Snares and Fly Drones that patrol the skies looking for intruders. Being spotted by one of these would lead to capture.
THROUGH THE PIPES.
If an Echo does not want to go up, they may also choose to go down. Along the ground of the isle are large openings to a sewer system. Sludge and waste is constantly being poured out in rivers, the odor fowl and the fumes burning the skin. Although somewhat treacherous, the maze of pipes will all eventually lead inside.
However, within these pipes are hundreds of Aeroslimes, bouncing along and looking for anything to consume. Although they are harmless, their toxic bodies can still cause damage.
ABOARD A CARGO SHIP.
While in the ocean, Echoes may notice that a massive cargo ship is making its way to the Isle. Echoes can sneak aboard this ship and attempt to hide among the cargo as stowaways.
The Cargo ship goes right into the LITTORAL wing and passes through three different, intersecting barriers. The ship is then inspected by various machines while cargo is catalogued and unloaded. Echoes will have to make a quick get away so as not to get caught by all of the watchful eyes.
GETTING CAPTURED.
There is always a chance of getting caught when breaking into the facility (or maybe it was intentional). If an Echo is ever caught, they are immediately injected with a dose of the nuero-toxin. Once sedated, the Echoes are stripped of their items, placed inside a white jumper with their name printed on it and a scannable code, and placed inside of one of the cells.
Any and all items that were brought are taken to where all of the other confiscated belongings have gone, and the newly captured Echoes will have to find a way to escape without them.
Once inside the facility, the rescue teams are free to explore, locate the kidnapped Echoes and work together to escape the facility. However, the longer the Echoes are there, the more quickly it becomes apparent it is far more difficult to leave than it was to arrive. And something in your gut tells you it was designed that way.
(for more information, please see the FAQ at the bottom of the event post.)
Do all Muses have to Participate?
No! Campaigns, like their Blue Moon counterparts, are optional. But they are a fun introduction to new set pieces to Aevum Isle's setting.
Is there a Participation Bonus?
Yes! Aevum Isles awards 500 Emblems for participation in Campaigns. They can also be counted for rank ups requirements.
FAQ:
WHAT POWERS/ABILITIES ARE SUPPRESSED?
All of them! :) (Please see the SUPPRESSION TOWERS in the Isles Overview Post for more details.)
Whatever abilities that the Echo has had restored will not be accessible. Any possessions, weapons, and armor that have been restored are locked away in the AROLIUM wing. Your muse may have their passive abilities, and that is all.
Any items and weapons that the Echoes bring with abilities that are attached to the Echo will also be suppressed. However, items with aether originating abilities will still function. (Ex. Omnibags, Healing Stones, and items with Runes will function.)
CAN I ONLY INTERACT WITH OTHERS ON MY SAME QUESTLINE?
Yes and No! It depends on your threads.
If you start at the very beginning, then logically yes. If Echo A is coming to the isle on an airship, and Echo B is a prisoner, then they cannot interact yet.
However, once the Rescue Echoes begin to break into the facility, both of the quest lines will be able to engage with each other.
You can choose to begin threads inside of the facility as a Rescuer or a Lab Rat at any point in time. Your starting point is up to you and your partners, not by act.
However, once you enter the facility, Echoes will not be able to leave.
Note: Echoes who are accepted into Aevum for the duration of the event, may still chose to be on a Rescue Team or captured themselves on a night following their arrival.
WILL THERE BE MORE INFORMATION ABOUT OCELLUS ISLE?
Yes! Keep an eye on @aevumdaily for updates!
CAN I COME UP WITH MY OWN NPCS?
Yes! This is highly encouraged throughout all of Aevum Isles.
The scientists of Instar, although somewhat small compared to a true population, are still a near constant presence. All of the scientists are highly intelligent and are incredibly loyal to Instar Labs.
Scientists can have one of three ranks: Associate, Specialist and Senior. Each of these ranks is subordinate to the Executive Rank, which is only held the leader of Instar Laboratories.
Each scientist has an access key related to their rank that only grants them access into certain facilities. Your NPC will need to be of one of these ranks, and likely associated with one of the wings where they work. For a more in-depth view of the laboratory ranks, see the Ocellus Isle Map Page.
HOW DO THE ECHOES FULLY ESCAPE?
Great question!
Stay tuned for Act II of the campaign to find out how to escape. The debut date will be FEBRUARY 15th.
WHO EXACTLY IS BEHIND ALL OF THIS?
Who knows!
During the campaign, he will only be playing observer. Watching the facility responding to the Echoes, testing their limits and collecting valuable data for him to use. He will not be visible, though every scientist speaks of the "Boss" with a high regard. Every machine is loyal to him, the one whom they call "Creator".
But until the right opportunity arises, the man known as "Boss" remains tucked away in the IMAGO Wing, watching and waiting.
I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION BUT IT’S NOT ON HERE.
Please let us know by asking your question in the Aevum Isles Masterlist’s Ask Box!
Questions sent elsewhere (such as the Aevum Isles FAQ discord channel) will not be accepted, and instead Staff will ask to transfer your question to the Masterlist at this time.
You can find the Aevum Isles Event FAQ tag (HERE), the Aevum Worldbuilding FAQ tag (HERE), and the general FAQ tag (HERE).
٠ ࣪⭑ It's time for Cucumber to join the fray! He's going to be a part of the Rescue Team after discovering many of his friends were kidnapped and already on the island.
Like, for a starter! Capping at 2~ (looking for pt 1 and pt 2!) with the exception of previously plotted threads.
He will have on him the folllowing items for the campaign:
His wand
Ear Pieces to share with someone
Multi-Sight Goggles
Plate Barrier
Gravity Boots
Scramble Key
Invisa-Blanket
Filter Mask
And the Tool belt. He'll be sneaking in via the Cargo Ship! He's so unassuming and small no one notices him with help from the blanket.
I'll post another starter after the campaign for new interactions! <3
٠ ࣪⭑ It was something else coming back through that tower. Though Cucumber couldn't say for sure that he had even left at all. It was like a blink to him, one moment he was trying to fight off weird robots, and now it was snowing. Maybe he should be sad that he's back, but instead he thinks about the friends he hopes are still here.
Miss Byleth, Sora, Pit, Luna, and the many others he's met. Cucumber found his new lodging easily and decided to venture out. Just in his surroundings, he knew that time had passed but something was odd.
The parks and places where Echoes like him hung out were... vacant. In fact, the whole community was quieter. Bunny ears twitched nervously as Cucumber knocked on doors and looked around. But there was nothing he could see, and he recognized plenty of names on his contact list on the phone he was given back.
So... that begged the question.
" W-where did everyone go!? " Cucumber's panicked cries echoed in the vacant streets. He would need to hurry to figure this out. Something wasn't right here.
Hello hello! Without prior reserve, I'd like to re-apply Cucumber from Cucumber Quest ^^ My app is found under /app or via the star on the side bar, and my OOC contact is asketchy-kaseadilla on Tumblr (bunny boi is coming back!! :D)
You feel stillness and motion pressing upon you from all sides. A familiar stirring draws you forward, and you wake once more from the long quiet.
You, CUCUMBER find yourself once more standing before the Terminus Tower. It has remained just as you once knew it, teeming with life. A guardian approaches.
What joyous occasion! Pleased, we are , Young Echo, for our paths to cross once more! Be swift in your readjustment, little one.
The guardian hands you the following:
A House Key. Emblazoned upon it is: #109, Eterna Village
Your former possessions, abilities, and emblems have been restored to you.
Hey friends! I just wanted to make a quick little announcement here, but I'm going to be temporarily dropping Cucumber from Aevum. Emphasis on temporarily! I just have a lot on my plate, and I need to cut back a little bit on what I'm doing here with my blogs and refocus.
Rest assured that he will return when all of my everything is in order! And I hope that it will be soon, cause I love my bun very much but hoarding him is also not good LOL
For my indie friends, I likely won't be checking on him for a bit, but that could change! I just need to give myself a little break for now <3
Anyways ^^ Thank you for your patience and understanding!
