I just wanna say I absolutely love your work and you got me hooked on the Wayhaven Chronicles within the very first page! Im just wondering, what would Adam do if he overheard the MC talking with Tina about him? Like the MC confesses that shes in love with him but that shes worried he wont feel the same way?
*slams hand on desk* Agh, I love this trope!!!!
I’m not sure it’s something I will put in Wayhaven, and I think I have had an ask on it before but still…
It’s Friday as well, so I’m gonna indulge a bit with a scene, hehe!

A police station shouldn’t be this quiet. Adam purses his lips at the thought, staring around the practically empty station, only the young fair-haired boy in sight at the front desk.
Pushing himself out of his chair, Adam strides towards the boy in order to ask for an update, but part way there a familiar voice makes his steps falter.
“I don’t think Adam feels the same way.”
The statement almost has Adam tripping over his own feet. Straightening out his shirt, he leans against the nearby desk, thankful that his powerful hearing means he doesn’t need to approach the detective’s office to hear this suddenly captivating conversation.
“How can you think that?” Officer Poname asks, her voice always at an excited pitch that sets Adam’s teeth on edge.
The detective sighs. “Have you seen how he acts around me? He’s always so eager to tell me my faults or let me know how human—uh, how useless I am.”
Adam tenses. His sudden anxiety should have been from the way the detective had almost slipped up, but instead his shoulders knot together at the words the detective uses.
“Maybe you shouldn’t care what he thinks,” Tina offers.
A growl echoes low from Adam at that reply.
“I wish I didn’t, but I can’t help it.” The detective’s voice deflates.
“Why?”
There’s a beat of silence, one that is almost deafening.
“Because I love him.”
If Adam had to breathe, he was sure he would have stopped completely. His chest seems to constrict until he can feel his ribs digging into his heart.
The words run wild in his mind, over and over.
It’s too much. It can’t be true. It shouldn’t be true.
And before he knows what he’s doing, Adam heaves himself up from the desk, knocking a tray of papers off in the process. The papers whirl around his solid form as he marches from the station, throwing the doors open so hard a crack forms across the sharp glass.
