The Cursed Fairy Spring

Link discovers a mysterious pond in the Pyramid of Power...

And at last, it is DONE! What started as an unused Zelda zine illustration prompt transformed into a full rewrite of the Cursed Fairy encounter from "A Link to the Past". I was enamored with the idea of designing a Dark World version of a Great Fairy, with ample BOTW inspiration, and once I started thinking about what personality she might have and how she'd treat Link, it was easy to get carried away. While it took me a lot longer to pull this together than I initially planned, it was still a great reintroduction to making comics for myself, and it felt really good to give myself the chance to make some Zelda fanart that wasn't another painting. <3 I also want to give a huge thank you to my loyal Ko-fi members for helping support the creation of this comic~

four swords+ manga ch 7: climb cringe mountain

Ok ok I KNOW October's over but I had to squeak this last thing out. Just a little comic based off a hilarious comment by @ixtaek on Four's monster picture. Somewhere along the lines I also started to envision Shadow as not just Four's little brother, but his little little brother and the visual has me in stitches (thanks for the comment Ixtaek!)

...This also started me down a whole lore path of Shadow being so new/small that he doesn't have enough goo yet to sustain himself as a slime, so he, like all young slimes, has to piggy-back in the goo of an older slime until he grows big enough to separate (This older slime is usually a parent but can also be a big sibling; thus, Four has become his designated big brother >u<) 

I have no explanation for Shadow liking bees other than it seems to fit his vibe XD

AAAH YOU DREW THE MCMALOS ORDER AAAAAAAAAH IT'S SO PRECIOUS also yes look at him, he is literally just a baby. His big brother is looking out for him. I love love it so so much. Love the implication he's just toting him around and possibly sometimes Shadow is swiping some goo to break off and go cause problems on purpose AAAAH I'M GONNA BE THINKING ABOUT THIS ALL DAY

@ixtaek AAAAA I'm glad you like it! Hearing my art made someone happy is one of the best compliments ever ^u^

Hahaha Shadow swiping enough goo to run around and cause mischief is hilarious >u< Can you imagine? He goes off to steal some snacks or something, hops back onto Four (maybe Four's been napping), and when someone starts accusing him he just looks up innocently like, "What do you mean? I am just a baby goo, I cannot possibly move by myself for very long, look how innocent I am."

And neither the accuser nor Four buy it. Four's just frowning, "You're big enough to sneak off for a few minutes, Shadow! And I still taste the cookie crumbs you dropped on me."

"Rats. Foiled again."

my personal headcanon is that when the Links are adults, they occasionally help their dad train the squires. (Green and Red help out more than Blue and Vio tho... for obvious reasons LOL)

but yeah, trust me the shenanigans does not stop just because they're grown
