Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I don't think that if Baelor Breakspear had been born a woman, Daeron II would've made her his heir.

Not because she'd be less capable(If anything, she'd still probably be the most capable/most qualified) but because Daeron ii would have to have learned from the Dance of the Dragons; I think he'd name Aerys heir instead to avoid another succession crisis.

And in all honesty, naming fem!Baelor heir over Aerys would also hand the Blackfyres even more ammunition to rally support against the crown. Whether their arguments would be fair is another matter, but they'd absolutely use it.

Just my opinion, though. (I'd genuinely love to hear other people's thoughts on this; do you agree, or do you think Daeron would've still named Baelor his heir?)

i know a lot of people headcanon daeron as dyanna's favorite son, but personally i don't really see it. i don't think he was anyone's favorite, and i just find him more endearing that way. just... a little pathetic (affectionate).

Does anyone else see Alpha!Maekar and Omega!Brynden Rivers?

Not even as a ship necessarily--well yes, but the sheer potential for drama. Aegor being an Alpha with a massive grudge against Maekar because Brynden chose him instead? The jealousy, the political fallout, the absolute chaos at court...

I don't know, the idea has been rotting my brain for the past ten minutes.

.....and don't even get me started on the idea of Brynden being the Maekarlings' mother. That's a whole separate post. 👀

it's 2:02 a.m. and i just had the thought... i get why people (and the actual characters) are mad at aerion for indirectly/directly causing baelor's death. but baelor was also a grown ass man who made his own decision. he chose to step into that trial. aerion's actions set everything in motion, sure, but baelor wasn't forced to fight. idk... i just think the responsibility isn't as one-sided as people make it out to be.

Confession: I never actually liked Aerion as a character. The only thing carrying him for me was that he was pretty.

But then people started writing and drawing him with a pussy and suddenly I was like… wait a minute… I get it now.

I don’t know what this says about me but I fear the fandom version of Aerion did more for me than canon Aerion ever did.

also i may be a little strict because sometimes i don’t even read fics if Aerion isn’t portrayed as Maekar’s favorite 😭 i just need him to have that bond with Maekar. and i swear i think Aerion got Maekar’s coloring but Dyanna’s looks. idk it just fits in my head

Does anyone else dislike the theory that Daella or Rhae had a child with Dunk?

I know it's a popular theory, and I know there are reasons people believe it, but I've never been able to get behind it. It's not even that I think it's impossible, it's just one of those theories that gives me a weird feeling whenever I hear it.

Maybe it's because I don't think it fits how I personally view Dunk as a character, or maybe it's because I don't like the implications of it, but every time I see someone bring it up I just immediately go, "Please no."

I can't even fully explain why. Most theories I either like, dislike, or don't care about. This one is different. It genuinely makes me uncomfortable in a way I can't put into words.

If George ever confirms it, then fine, it's canon. But until then, I'll continue pretending it doesn't exist because I genuinely hate this theory.

(Please tell me I'm not alone on this. I need people who agree and want to discuss it 😭)

It amuses me that in fanfiction, Aerion is still a bastard to his younger siblings, and that Maekar and his partner – whether it’s Dyanna or Baelor – keep having children. Your son doesn’t love his siblings, he mistreats them, everyone’s stressed out, and you’re still being irresponsible by bringing more children into the world to make the situation worse. Wtf.
