while we’re calling out glee rps what-if-rpg has a “character development” task set right about covid-19 and allows their players to use it as a starter

you know, this is still a weird situation i’m iffy on. i personally think it’s up to the discretion of the admins & members if they rp the pandemic out. like it’s not my cup of tea, i run a rp that’s set in 2017 so i’d have no reason to rp it out & i personally don’t have a desire to but that’s kind of their own thing if they wanna do that. i know at the moment covid is not something to joke about or make light things about because it is affecting many families & people in general but also in the rpc so i don’t know if it’s the most appropriate thing to make a development task about ? we don’t make development tasks over flu season or allergy season so making one about covid just seems ultimately weird to me ? 

reminder: please do not send any hate to any rps i talk about. even if they do stuff that i don’t agree with it doesn’t mean to bombard their askbox with anons & harass them.

yikes @ that anon trying to justify erasing camila's being a latina. the grpc can make sure darren and vanessa lengies' ethnic backgrounds, for example, are respected but can't understand why casting camila as solely white is wrong????

agreed that camila shouldn't play the child of a two white people but being a latino/latina doesn't mean you're a person of color. it's not an ethnicity so white latinx exist. for all we know camila's parents are white but simply born and raised in brazil because white brazilians exist look at gisele bundchen.

while i don’t know her parents entire genealogy i think it’s safe to say that they aren’t just white Latinx or else i think camila would have already stated that & camila and her family share very latin features compared to white latinx features.

camila mendes is latina but she's also white, they're not mutually exclusive

i am not about to sit here & educate you on why you shouldn’t use a Latina fc as a white character just because “she’s also white” in 2020. that’s just… no. we’re not gonna go there & erase a fc’s ethnicity. wanna play a white character? use a white fc, simple as that.

okay but what’s the point in having this blog if i don’t tag it? that just defeats the entire purpose because then no one will see it. i also never said anything about limahq, an anon was sent in about a POC being used as a predominately white character & i answered it. i never bashed the rp, i never said anything about the admins, & truly i respect them for even handling the situation. that shows true maturity for addressing the problem & fixing it, most people can’t bring themselves to admit that they are in the wrong. however, i use my blog to talk about whatever comes through my inbox so i’m sorry if you perceived me saying a Latina shouldn’t be used as a Jewish and white person’s biological child as a rude remark.

that is an uh oh. if she’s adopted then i don’t see anything wrong with it even though i don’t see rachel & jesse adopting children but camila is a latina woman & it’s not 2014 anymore so white washing POC is just… not okay? especially because i think camila’s had a hard time getting roles because she could be considered white passing so i kinda think that’s just even more rude to the FC not only because of the white washing but also because she’s a latina who had trouble getting latina roles?
