Stop the Objectification

Don’t believe every image on social media is real, recognize photo-shop! Work on your self esteem. Ladies, have confidence in yourself! We are all beautiful and we need to all work to bring each other up and promote positive body image! It doesn’t matter what size we are, how we look, how we identify, etc... Each of us is unique in our own ways. Just be your true self and embrace it!

Sooo many things in our everyday lives cause us to self objectify, when these things shouldn’t!

We, as women, see ourselves as more of an object to be looked at than as a body. After all, that’s what we’ve been taught growing up all these years. That’s the norm in our society now. To be sexual. But the reality is WE ARE NOT OBJECTS. We are human beings and we need to stop letting this objectification bring us down. We need to have confidence and high self esteem when it comes to viewing our bodies. Each of us are made differently--uniquely--and it’s time women start embracing it.

Women everywhere are guilty of self objectification and we’re even subjected to it from coworkers, friends, peers, and sadly even strangers. When you look in the mirror and think to yourself, “I can’t go out in public like this”, you’re doing it. you’re guilty. Then you spend hours finding just the right outfit and doing your hair and makeup just to look perfect. You’re an outsider looking in on yourself and criticizing. Men criticize women and other women do it too. Sometimes they fail to even see the real, authentic us. They just think, “oh I need to get with her she’s hot.” The bottom line is women were not put on this earth solely to please men with our bodies and our looks. We shouldn’t have to worry about putting on makeup and dressing in sexy clothing for others to gaze at. We shouldn’t have to constantly ask ourselves if we are up to standards each day. We should just be able to be our true selves without so much criticism.
