reasons welcome to night vale is rly good for representation

-main character is gay, in a relationship -his boyfriend is mexican -main character’s race is not said -there is no heteronormativity. main character asks his niece abt love life but makes it clear hes asking about ‘any boys you like? any girls? anyone?’ -disabled character. villain offers to 'fix’ her as a bribe. character’s father loses his shit trying to attack the villain. its the only time we’ve heard him truly get angry. -theres a 13 year old black girl who saves the entire town multiple times and is arguably the most badass character in the entire show -one of the interns, a poc girl, manages to survive her internship and become mayor (her sexuality is never said from what i remember but everyone just assumes shes lgbt i guess) -another of the interns also survives, she is a poc lesbian (clearly states this herself!!!) -in the most recent episode it suggests a relationship between her and an asian girl will begin -multiple gay minor characters -two all powerful and terrifying monsters are lesbians and dating -nonbinary angels -nonbinary desert ppl -nonbinary sherriff -popular fan theory that cecil’s sister is trans (a brother is mentioned on a tape he finds from when he was little. once he is done listening to the tape, he says 'but i dont have a brother?’ the only sibling mentioned is his sister.) -theres one straight couple in the entire show -there was a muslim lesbian in one of the recent episodes -there are multiple gay couples mentioned and its never had a big deal made out of it
