the cool kids voted to get rid of me (series): the old guard. how Quynh got out from under the sea, found booker, how they saved each other and how the rest of the team dealt with it. rated teen. might post a few out of context snippets I have for it, but the story itself is complete.

common ground: atla, an exploration of waterbending, firebending, bloodbending and Zuko and Katara's relationship post southern raiders. could be read as pre-relationship or platonic. rated gen. don't have enough material or motivation for a sequel but i might try to squeeze a few headcanon posts out of what i have

The Curious Case of Dr. James Barry, or the Strange and Momentous Events that Transpired on a Quiet Evening by the Fire.: book canon Sherlock Holmes, johnlock, trans sherlock coming out. rated teen. I've had what was going to be a part two mostly written for years now, but it's just a few hundred words of sherlock talking about his past growing up trans in victorian britain. if anyone's interested feel free to bother me about it and i might try to edit something coherent out of it.

like watching tea steep: good omens, Crowley and Aziraphale figuring out the body swap the night after the apocalypse. teen and up. also has a cute little bus ride drabble in the series, and potentially pending a sequel if i get through the cringe I feel trying to reread all i have written for it since it's some of my earliest writing

in the sunlit garden: revolutionary girl utena. post canon, utena realising he's a trans man. rated teen.

star wars:

How to build a friend from scratch: when trying to run away from the academy after blowing up the weapon she built, Sabine gets intercepted by Vader who offers her a job as a mechanic. Stockholm syndrome to found family pipeline. rated teen. I adore this fic, it's my absolute baby, it's fully planned out and the one most likely to get updated next.

Emotion, yet Peace (series): Yoda refuses Obi-Wan's request to train Anakin, so he leaves the order and trains him on Tatooine. they kidnap Ahsoka at some point it's great. rated gen. I have the next few chapters planned and am excited for them, but no idea where the story will go after that.

blue skies ahead: Anakin dyes his hair blue and it saves the world. rated gen. inexplicably my most popular fic. last chapter is half written and waiting for me to get my shit together.

better late than never: Ahsoka wins the duel on Malachor and kidnaps Vader. she trains Luke and Leia, Obi-Wan is there too and so is the entire ghost crew, a lot of emotional discussions and scrambling to build something new because the old cannot be fixed. rated gen. my longest fic, and heading nowhere fast. I have some ideas for the next few chapters but only a vague image of the ending.

That's how stories work: Padme being unhinged and power hungry will save the world. rated teen. last chapter is a mess of disconected paragraphs in my docs for now, but there's a lot to work with there.

I'm you, but taller (for now, at least): Anakin is trans, and so is Obi-Wan. neither of them shares that, and familial drama ensues from the cultural differences between Tatooine and Coruscant, with the shadow of past childhood trauma, and the dark future this type of miscommunication will bring looming over them. rated gen, oneshot

heat and fuel: Ahsoka falls to the dark side to protect Ezra and Kanan from Maul on Malachor. rated teen, very short oneshot

Do you ever get reminded of that one really intense longfic that you had every intention of writing and had meticulous notes and complicated outlines for but then something happened and you aren't in the fandom anymore and you still have the desire to write the fic but it's slightly hollow now because it's a good idea and you think it would have been a great fic but you haven't been in the fandom for literally years and you don't have that bit of passion for it that you did when you were writing it and have just a weird moment of nostalgia where you want to reread it but it never existed

I may need to rewatch the sequels for a fic I started writing last year, that I've finally found motivation to finish. I do not want to rewatch the sequels. The fic does not involve any of the plot or the characters from the sequels. It does however happen in part at the same time and unfortunately i remember absolutely nothing that happened in them

Just so y’all know: I can’t speak for every other fic author but I can say that I remember when people leave me kind comments. I recognize your urls and/or usernames on AO3. I remember you and sometimes in writing my fics I think to myself, “Oh, I hope this person sees this because they liked x in this other fic I did.”

Not only that—I go back and reread comments when I’m feeling low. I look at tags and reblogs and asks and wish I could hold them in my hand like a note from a friend on an old, torn piece of notebook paper.

💻 Do you do research for your fics? What’s the deepest dive you’ve done?

I do, but at the wrong moments. I've gone down many a wookiepedia rabbit holes to find out what a tatooinian rabbit would be called for an offhand line, but when it comes to writing mechanics or fighting i tend to just wing it. although, fun fact, I wrote sabine having an idea on how to make a spaceship work once, and I thought it was utterly ridiculous and unbelievable, until i found out months later the actual space shuttles used something very similar

last year when i was deeply depressed and writing constantly to escape my problems i was just constantly watching and rewatching the movies and relevant clone wars episodes as research, so that was a deep deep dive into a kiddie pool i suppose.

Oh also for the as yet unfinished sequel to my gomens fic I really really tried to learn more about slavic prechristian religion and witchcraft but unfortunately that culture has been thoughroughly erased by a thousand years of christianity and n*zis appropriating whatever was left. I'm being a touch dramatic there are books that have the information I want, but I just don't care enough about a two year old good omens wip to read them.

📥 What is your fave fic to receive comments/messages on?

How to build a friend from scratch, hands down. That fic hovers around a 1:1 comment to kudos ratio whenever I actually update it which is incredible. Nearly no one has read it but the few people who did have started the most interesting discussions in the comments and it's always really entertaining to see how delighted people are with seeing a fic centered on sabine and vader. And I truly feel like i've stumbled on something really good with the premise and its definitely an untapped niche. theres still only 3 vader & sabine fics on ao3, just like when i started it, and two of them are mine. Getting comments on that feels like a private little thing, compared to other fics. Like we're all in on the joke.

🍰 Name one of your fave comfort fics (doesn’t have to be your all time fave).

I don't read much fanfic these days, but anything black sails by vovelinthug is always guaranteed to captivate and destroy me emotionally. Idk if i mentioned that before but I have absolutely no wish to write bs fic, because I feel like the story is too good, too well rounded for anything I have to say to be worth addding. And the power that a writer has, who is able to perfectly slot their work into that kind of story, without it seeming disjointed, is incredible. before the last season came out, and even after, every time I rewatch the show, i immediately follow it with st. augustine is that way In my mind they are just one story.

I just remembered hands of clay by mhalachai being something very comforting, that I read over a period of years as it was posted. I lost interest in marvel at some point, or the fic just got too long for my patience, so I never finished it, but i definitely want to one of these days. one of the few modern, domestic aus of anything that i actually enjoyed.

If you're looking for star wars, then tano and kenobi by fireflyfish is very important to me, and has been for years. it definitely influenced my own writing a lot and i even have an unposted wip directly inspired by it in premise. although that's another one I just sort of drifted away from at some point. I'm mostly caught up, I think, but I apparently just don't have the attention span to stay loyal to a fic beyond 200k.

as always my ask game reading comprehension sucks, I was supposed to name one. but the thing is, most of what I read is not very comforting, and usually oneshots, so they don't really stick in my mind well enough to point to one specific one and say this one, this is my favorite, even though i like oneshots much more than multichapter fics.

Was I right to assume that the “Sorry about your lightsaber” line means that Anakin found Obi-Wan’s old saber in the reactor room and is training to use it? I couldn’t resist the image of Anake with a saber, unhinged, headdress askew and hair spilling out.
