So, I've been getting a little obsessed with solo journaling rpgs lately, which of course means I desperately wanted to make one, and I actually did this time!
I was craving something short, so that's what I made. I needed something more manageable, and I really wanted to experiment with writing poetry. I think I succeeded.
So here it is, in it's very rough state. If anyone is interested in play testing I'd love to hear all your thoughts, and see what you do with it!
Premise: You are in need of a creative outlet, but you just can't seem to find the time and energy to do that in your day to day life. So you book a hotel for a week alone to get back to your passions. Writing for a week straight will be good for you.
Character creation: Randomly generate 2-3 adjectives and base your character's personality on those. Now how would they answer the following questions?
What are they planning to write during this week?
(music, poems, short stories...)
Why are they on this writing retreat?
(escape, unmotivated, lack of direction...)
What is their goal for this writing retreat?
(rest, build skill, reconnect with self...)
You can add whatever else you want for your character, but this is all you should need.
This game lasts 7 in game days.
You can write 3 times a day. Morning, afternoon, and night. Each day has a theme and you need to use a random word for each time of day combined with that days theme.
(You can use a random word generator, or have someone think of a word, or blindly point at a word in a book, etc.)
Write an entry based off of the daily word theme and the random word, while staying in character.
