Upped my PB for hang power cleans x2 by 12.5kg today. Was it because I was wearing my new Make The Effort t-shirt? Probably. Definitely. #liamhasaposse

Plus a fair few more Arc Studios shows. Thanks to all involved.
I am waaaaaaaay more stoked than I look to be wearing my own band’s merch there’s 20 shirts available and if they sell I’ll be so happy. Selling them at the show for £7 and then £9 posted for any leftovers.
New bands
Fletch The Sinking Feeling Trial & Error Dread Injustice Dean Bear Arms Steven Slowlight
Our last show is on July 3rd with Hounds of Hate, Violent Reaction, No Island & Gunfinger at 13th Note. Fletch is in The Sinking Feeling, Dread, Trial & Error & Injustice, Dean is in Bear Arms, Steven is in Primitive Guilt & Liam is in danger of a heart attack if he doesn't stop eating pizza every day.
If you can come along to the last show that would be awesome. We'll have shirts for sale. MTE
We're getting some of these printed soon, get in touch if you want one.
This isn’t just a cool/cheesy one line catchphrase to me, it meant a lot to be able to express this through the band even if it was Liam singing it. People will take their own meaning, or none at all - but summing up a hard few years of my life in two words was pretty powerful for me. I guess hardcore can do that, if you let it. It wasn’t really for anyone else, which is pretty much why it needs to end soon.
March 14th Record Release Show: Wolves At Heart Bear Arms Notebooks Make The Effort
Broadcast 427 Sauchiehall Street Glasgow March 14th £5 OTD 8pm
Our next show with our good friends in Wolves At Heart, celebrating the release of their split 7" with Last Call, on Struggletown Records. Probably one of the last show's we'll ever play, so come down.
Never thought SDF would validate my songwriting reasoning, but they did!
"When you feel so constantly irritated at your peers, you suspect you may have developed nerve damage as a result. "
As a reason/time to write an album.
Rotting Out / Southampton
Our man Fletch singing along to Rotting Out.
Gunfinger will be releasing their EP later today. Total bellends but the tunes are solid #fuckhawkchild
I did a flyer for a punk show that Hawkchild is putting on and my band are playing. Pretty stoked on this show.
The climax
6 months to turn into a wrecking machine.
Update
I know there's not a whole lot of people out there waiting on baited breath to see what Make The Effort are up to, but a few people have been asking. We had to pull out of the show on the 26th of January with The Pact, War Charge, Trial & Error and Bleak Reality which is a huge bummer as we are good friends with people in those bands and supporting an English tour in Glasgow is something we really would like to be doing. Basically we had no time to get together and practice, Fletch has just started a full time job and is now playing in Trial & Error as well as The Sinking Feeling, Dean works full time too and has commitments with his other band Bear Arms, I (Steven) am working 9-5 and Liam is a fat lazy shite, so it's got to the point where we're wondering how high on our priorities list this band really is. We started out with no ambition but to write songs that rip off and maybe pay homage to some of our favourite youth crew hardcore bands, we never really thought we would get many shows and certainly recording wasn't up there on our to do list. The shows have been great, people have been very supportive and we've got some great songs written, ready to record at some point in the summer. I dunno what we're doing really at this point, chilling out and maybe waiting 'til summer to record a few songs and play a show or two, nothing serious. Thanks for giving half a fuck.
Someone made this. We played Straight Ahead and Stop & Think but it's fucking cool that someone took time to put this together. YOUTH CREW
http://maketheeffort.bandcamp.com/album/arc-practice-room-live-set We just put up a live recording off a digital camera from the show we played at Arc on the 6th of October, the mix isn't great but there's a Stop & Think cover and a Straight Ahead cover played twice as fast as it should be. Feel free to download it if you feel the need. There's also 3 songs in there that aren't on the demo.
We are playing a show in January with: War Charge Bleak Reality Trial & Error The Pact
I don't expect people to pay £7 to see us - but the lineup is a good selection of young bands from across the UK.
