"It's because I fucking love you!"
Jude froze at that, biting his lip. Their argument had been stupid, they both knew it, but it didn’t stop Jude from feeling slightly hurt. Well, more than hurt if he was packing himself an overnight bag to go stay at the new house they were building. Jude looked back over at him, his shoulders slumping in defeat before he let his eyes close.
"Alright. I’ll stay." He said quietly, his expression turning tired as he looked at Cloud. Clearly the stress of the past few months had caught up with him.
Jude still didn’t look at him. His eyes filled with tears as he stared unblinkingly at his lap, biting his lip. “Cloud…” He tried so hard to keep his voice steady but couldn’t help as it wavered. “I l-l-love you. So much… but it isnt fair for m-me to m-m-make you stay here when you want to be there to h-help..” He balled his hands, digging his nails into his palms.
"And its not fair for me… t-to have to sit here…" He brought a hand up, wiping at a tear that had fallen down his cheek. "Not knowing if you are going to come back dead or alive… N-not knowing if I’ll ever… see you… again…" His composure broke, eyes closing and tears falling down his cheeks.
Moving closer on shaky legs, the swordsman continued to shake his head. "N, no." A tear fell, leaving a wet trail as it slid down his cheek. Faced with this, Cloud wondered what was really important to him. Would he be selfish? Or would he always do as he'd always done and help those in need.
It was then he realized he never had a choice.
The man fell to his knees, body shaking as he spoke through his tears, sobbing as he dug his fingers into the carpet. "I, I can't li, live without you! Please! P, please Jude! I, I'll never go back!" Head hung, his blonde spikes hid his face, but one could still see the tears falling onto the floor. "I want to stay here with you....I n, need you....I n, nee, need you..."
