My Language Journey
Hello and welcome on my Tumblr-Blog! Since Iâm planning on posting about my language learning here, I thought I would start with explaining how I got to the point where I am at the moment. So here we go:
1.German: German is my mothertongue. I was born, grew up and still live in Germany. I think I donât need to esplain more! :)
2.English: I started learning English at school in 5th grade and fell in love with the language pretty fast because I wanted to watch Harry Potter in the original language (great reason to learn a language, I know). Most of my English-knowledge I have from watching movies and reading books. Currently, Iâd say, Iâm at a C1 level in English although Iâm better at speaking and understanding than writing.
3.Latin: I needed to choose in 6th grade whether I want to learn Latin or French and I decided to study Latin (wasnât my cleverest decision since I love French and would really like to learn it) . So Iâm learning Latin for over 5 years now, but I never learned it besides school because Iâm just not really interested in it. Iâd say Iâm roughly at an intermediate level.
4.Spanish: I started learning Spanish in school at 8th grade and at first I absolutely hated it (who invented these damn conjugations?), but after two and a half years I actually began to like it, so I am currently studying it at home as well. Also this is my priority atm. I can read it pretty well, but I still have problems understanding Youtubevideos with topics, Iâm not very familiar with, and speaking the language. Iâm currently on a level between B1 and B2 Iâd say.
Those are the languages I actually learned and Iâm able to speak (more or less). I also looked into Swedish a while ago, but I only studied it for like a week or two. Iâm currently thinking about picking up a new language very soon, but I canât decide between Swedish and French.
