I manage an independtantly owned salon that sells a certain high-end all natural hair care line. Let’s call it Aschmeda. We are independently owned and have no responsibility to said company other than what we price things for, return policy and how we display things etc. I was having a visit from our regional corporate rep and she was asking me to send her a very time sensitive document so I was on my cell phone airdropping the file to her. In walks Entitled B. I didn’t greet her immediately bc she was standing behind a large makeup display and I did not see her. Once I saw her, I welcomed her and asked if she needed anything. Entitled said no, grabbed her products and walked to my desk. I rang her up, told her to have a nice day and she went on her way. At the time my desk was surrounded by a nail tech asking me questions, a client trying to rebook an appointment, my salon owner and out Aschmeda rep. I was very obviously busy. Entitled B then storms back into the store, demands my name and starts yelling about how I was so rude to her and too preoccupied with being in my phone and she’s a secret shopper from Aschmeda corporate (they don’t have those) and she’s going to report me? My corporate rep that was literally standing directly next to me was like, actually you’re not from corporate, we don’t do secret shoppers at salons and you would know that if you were from corporate. She insists she is so my rep goes to her iPad and searches the company database and lo and behold this crazy Entitled B wasn’t even on it! She was just trying to intimidate me! I hope she was as embarrassed as she tried to make me feel

When are we going to start teaching kids that it’s okay to disagree with adults? That it’s okay to demand respect from them and that them being younger doesn’t mean they deserve to get treated like shit just because adults are “always right”? When are we gonna start doing that?

yes, but i gotta add:: when are we going to start telling adults that kids should be allowed to disagree with them? when are we going to teach adults that a kid disagreeing with them isn’t disrespect? when are we going to tell them that adults gotta apologize to kids when they make a mistake? when are we gonna tell them that kids should be treated with respect, despite the young age? when are we going to tell them that there’s no problem if kids start questioning adults & that they should do so?
