OPEN to … anyone / If there was one trait of Claudia’s that could be considered insufferable — and, if one were to be honest, it was most of them — it was her pretentiousness. At only nineteen, she acted as if the world was balanced precariously on her shoulders: despite the fact that she was no Atlas, and merely a teenage girl. Thus: the thinks herself better than the job she’s at, and despite the fact that she’s always on time, and always gets the correct change … customer service is clearly not her calling. She doesn’t look up from her book as another person rolls up to the ticket office, and she sounds painfully bored as she says, as if reciting lines: “ The new National Lampoon’s movie is still sold out for this showing. Our next showings are at four pm, seven-fifteen, and ten o’clock. ” The flip of a page sounds out from behind the glass.
it was nikki’s one day off -- from everything. she had the entire day to not worry about work, or planning odd jobs, she could just... fucking CHILL. “look, sweetheart.” nikki planted her palms on the glass of the booth, trying to get the distracted and uninterested girl’s attention. “i really just want to watch a movie ya know? and after this i got plans. plans, man. so please.. is there anythin’ i can do to just.. go in?”
